£100 maintenance seems really low. I've got 2 children and get £325 per month, can't your ex increase the payments?

I know it is earnings related but I also have 2 children from my ex and he pays £352 p/m

Is he declaring all his earnings?
Are you using the CSA or just your own agreement?
  • Well done on facing up to everything and making changes.

I assume there is no way of getting your maintenance upped?

Also your tax credits/child benefit seem high are you sure you have added this up correct? I'm no expert on this though so could be wrong.

Yes i thought that, we are on a similiar income and i get roughly 86.00 per week wtc/ctc + child benefit for 2 children:confused:

I could be wrong but I think there is probably an element for child care in this figure.

I know when I was a working single mum I got alot of tax credits but they did include money for childcare.

  • Ah yes you are probably right i was just worried she may be working with incorrect figures.
    Thanks
  • Nope, he's crap, says if I go after him for more, he'll go on the dole...why oh why did I ever divorce him! I think i'll do a updated budget planner and see how it comes out!
  • Do you have any access arrangements for the children?
  • The tax credits do involve child care I get around 330 per week and my childcare is 220. up until this summer I was self-employed while I was in college and on a very low income so although I'm not on a great wage now, its even worse over the year when you take into account the self employment. I expect my tax credits will be reduced in the next tax year!
  • Our divorce states that he can see then 3 or 4 times per year with no overnight access
  • Our separation agreement (which stands with the divorce too) says he should pay the £50 but he is refusing to take responsibility for it. It's not as if, i'm walking around in Prada!!!
