Well done Kerry on the cutting back so far. Sometimes it sounds really harsh the way we pick through your SOA but if your serious about becoming debt free then you probably knew that you had to cut back on the unnecessary items anyway.
You could contact your mobile supplier, mine made me keep the contract but I was able to go to the lowest tariff which was about £15 per month.
Don't forget when you are due to renew your insurance to go through Quidco and earn some cashback.0 -
Thanks I hope so!!! I feel like I'm in a big black hole anymore!
Was a student until recently and have been exempt from Council Tax and Rates.
Passed my driving test less than a year ago so insurance is about 400 (alot of comparison, definately cheapest quote at the time) Maintenance is MOT and work needed on car.
I don't do Birthdays or Christmas, couldn't afford it last year so I just stopped it!

Hi Kerry,
Just a quick query, are any of the visa/store cards in your ex husbands name or are they all yours?
I know your gas elec bills seem high - but it is cold up there (I know I used to live in Forres)
Are you leaving things on while you are at work? It is amazing how much elec you can use by forgetting to switch things off.
You will get there.

Ta for the tips girl racer.
Mom23 -I get tax credits and the only reason I am working is to keep on plugging away at my debts so me and my children can get some sort of decent life in the future!0 -
Also are you able to get any of your debts onto 0% balance transfers?0

LM - Its bloody freezing, I lived in London for 10 years before meeting my now ex-husband and moving back up here, still can't get used to it! My ex had problems with credit so everything was in my name, part of our separation agreement is that he gives me £50 a week towards our debt but he doesn't and half the time I don't know where he is any way. Newcastle, last time i checked!!!0

I don't think I have a good credit rating at the mo so the 0% might be an issue!0

£100 maintenance seems really low. I've got 2 children and get £325 per month, can't your ex increase the payments?0

Is it written down anywhere that he has to give you this?
In my divorce settlement I had it written in that he was to discharge all debts incurred during our marriage (they were all his anyway but I did sign some of the agreements)
If it is written into your settlement then he has to pay it, there should be a way of getting him to pay it if your divorce says so.
