I was going to buy that book so i'll wait until i get reviews on here0

Had mince from a tin a few times, tastes of nothing much really, all you can taste is the gravy in the one I tried which I think was made by Princes. Most alarming part was the thick layer of fat over the top of the food in tin, yuck!
I haven't seen the book and wouldn't buy it but might borrow it if the local library gets it inOne day I might be more organised...........

I wish I'd got it from the library :wall: Check out this thread. Definitely not money-saving IMO0

I don't know about minced beef but i use stewed steak in a tin for a recipe i make with corned beef for when i've got nothing fresh in and that's fine. I think in a recipe it would be fine, not sure i'd warm it up on it's own and have it as mince and tatties though (local delicacy where i'm from)
I also have Delia's new book, i haven't had time to try anything yet but i think it looks like there will be some great recipes to try - let me know any successes you have!0 -
Well in that case can anyone recommend a good easy recipe cookbook for me, not recipes on here because i'm in the process of printing some delicous looking ones for my recipe folder0

Hi studentgirl. We have a thread on Delia's book already so I've merged your thread with it to keep the answers together.
If thriflady says it's not money saving then I'm pretty sure it won't be! I don't know as I've not seen it yet, but i imagine that if you're starting from a position where everything or mostly everything you cook is ready meals then it would be a good middle ground and a step towards cheaper meals?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I've not seen the book yet but the video of Delia making a donner kebab is good.

I can say that I would never have thought to buy mince beef in a tin. Does anyone buy this? whats it like?
Really not sure about the recipies though not sure they are even healthy.
Has anyone looked at it??

.....will be back on our TV screens tonight, in a new series where she's now so well known she needs no surname (along the lines of Jamie, Nigella and Hugh
).
I'm a huge fan of her recipes, but have not been able to watch her on TV for some time. Her patronising attitude really grates on me these days. I love her website, though - really straightforward recipes., and have several of her books. The Complete Cookery Course is used every week.
Will you be watching? If you're reading this after watching the programme, what did you think? Should I look out for the repeat, or buy the inevitable book?
