Warning Pathways To Work !

I cant make much sense of the OPs posts either but for others information Pathways to Work involves work focused interviews which usually have to be attended though it is possible to have them waived or deferred. They can also involve drawing up an action plan, but as things stand at the moment nobody has to follow through anything. Therefore the OP did not have to get into this mess.0

THINK YOU TALK THE TALK BUT WOULD NOT WALK THE WALK !
im lost...i said i would not put myself in that position...they cannot force you do anything (i would rather find a honest job as an employee working for someone else than the stress of starting and running a business) it is unfortunate the things you have tried jobwise havent worked out but starting a business was not your only option....you could have tried other jobs but you seem to have came up with the idea of a great business venture which you are confident will work so why not go for it....like i say you are sure its is a "VIABLE BUSINESS" that you can succeed at at !!! .....you really should have checked how much money was available after all they dont have a bottomless pit of grant money !!!

I must take issue with your use of the word "scum". I realise that you you feel hard done by, but i really get annoyed by the endless and seemingly unchallenged tirades against the hard working, honest and human workers of DWP expressed on this site.
just want to say my IB advisor at job centre is a gem....havent met a nicer person who has helped me more so far....in fact the other lone parent advisors i was seeing before claiming IB were all nice people too who have always done their best to help and explain things to me

from what i can make out the OP had a business plan and although some funding is available it is not to the amount they were wanting or needing for this business venture...i think they thought that they would not have to fork out any money and that DWP/pathways to work programme would supply grants/money/funding for all costs to get their business up and running....please correct me if i am wrong OP...
i do think it is unfair and im prob a little annoyed that OP is slating the pathways to work programme (i personally find it helpful) as no one forced OP to do this....all rellevent information should have been found before starting this....as i can read from OPs post they are very confident there is a market for the product/service in question (although noone yet knows what this is) so i think they must have mentioned this to job centre as i do not see them "FORCING" people to do things they dont want to.

To be honest, you sound so stressed and out of it, I wouldn't lend you money to start a business.

The DWP can and does (via agencies) help with start up costs, in some cases.
But, £15k is a huge amount, and I have never heard of them lending those amounts.
If you want help to work, and are disabled, try these people:

Sorry I never read the whole thread but most of page 1.
It sounds to me that the agency is trying to make him go self employed so as to meet targets or get money for getting someone off benefit as that is a lot more easy than getting a real job for the person.
Now if he/she has done that he/she has been stupid. Sorry.
I am on IB and if they want to find work for me I have no problem with that but no way I am going to fund anything myself as I can't afford it anyway.0
