There was obviously a problem then as paypal's own terms and conditions state that the buyer gets the full amount originally paid back. If this was recent then phone paypal and ask what happened.
The only thing I can think of is that the seller didn't have the full £500 of protection and so paypal couldn't recover the full amount and co incidentally the amount they failed to recover equalled the post and packing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just a tip for the future to the OP. I buy and sell a lot of clothes on ebay, and there's one thing is always worth doing. Whatever you selling and whatever value that thing is, always inspect item in a good light and mention in the description ANY smallest imperfection, pull etc. Buyers can be really fussy, even over an 1p item. Once I was selling a t-shirt and put material as cotton, buyer got back to me saying she's hugely dissapointed as I didn't mention that it's only 98% cotton, the rest is elastane.. Uh well.. Or sometimes there're really minor imperfections that I can't even call for a flaw, but it's always worth giving a close up picture. If everybody was doing that there would be so much less dissapointed buyers! I get dissapointed sometimes about things that I've bought, sometimes picture makes an item look completely different from what it is! Or wrong mesurements! Recently I bought a jumper with 32" chest measurements, when it arrived I was dissapointed as it was real big and when I mesuremed it was 34". I didn't ask for refund, just not worth hassle, but I felt like I've waisted money and as a seller, I really don't want my buyers feel like they've waisted money and regret a purchase!0

Just an update i emailed her back apologising again and saying id be willing to send her a full refund on return of the item (as per ebay/paypal recommendations with a link to the relevant pages on each site stating this - just for her reference
) ...........well she didnt respond at first... So i waited and waited for an email back or to get the item through the post but nope.. nothing?!
Then today when i was leaving feedback for something else when i saw this item still awaiting feedback in my list so just out of interest i clicked on her name and viewed the items she was selling as when all this kicked off i noticed she was a big buyer and seller it would seem (mostly buying cheap items she then seems to sell on again at later date - in most cases for a profit!) and i had a strange feeling about it all..........
Lo and behold there is the top this whole debate was over up for sale.... it ends in less than 24 hours and is listed as 90p postage.. 50p starting price.. but has 2 bids and is up to 80p at time of posting this message... I dont have a problem with that at all! Afterall i resell things ive bought on ebay if when i receive them i dont like them or they dont fit
The ONE very interesting thing about the listing however is........ ive picked through her description with a fine toothed comb and NOWHERE AT ALL does she mention this hole that she claimed i should have listed in my listing as it was "so obvious" and therefore wanted a refund for!!!!
Hope the new buyer doesnt mind the "obvious" hole in their top when they receive it! :silenced:0 -

Get someone to ask her a question. 'Hi, can you tell me if this top is in perfect condition, only I bought something before and there was a hole in it?'0
-
Put the wind up her.
Ask her a question about it. A question like: 'has it got any holes?'
She won't be able to return it to you now, will she?
So she can't expect a refund. :rotfl:
The cheeky so-and-so. And after all the upset she has caused you, too!
grrrrrrr
Keep well and look after yourself. :beer:0 -
I suppose if you make enough complaints about goods some sellers will just refund without question. Say she gets a refund every so often this is increasing her profit margin overall. I must admit if I get a complaint about a low value item I would just refund less the postage just for a quiet life.0
