I really do feel for you, and understand your way of thinking.
I also work within a finance function and although CCCS have advised bankruptcy, it is just not a realistic outcome at the moment for me (I would lose my job as I work in one of the restricted occupations).
Looking at the worse case scanario for you at the moment:
your 5 creditors decide to go down the CCJ route!!! so what. The court will assess you incoming Vs outgoings and 9 times out of 10 will agree to the payment plan your have put forward (£1 - £5 month each). You pay that reduced amount.
Have you thought about asking for a small pay increase? 2% say
Have you thought about getting a higher paid job within another accounts dept? with your skills in accounting you should have no trouble, and there is a demand.
You have done a FANTASTIC job so far, and the passing of a parent is a life destroying moment (I Know, when my dad died I spent 7 months off sick). But keep the faith, you have hit the bottom of the hole and it WILL get better.
