Not bought any perfume at Boots for such a long time but when I worked there back in 2002 (is it really that long ago?!), they used to have a circular Boots sticker on so that if it was returned to them they knew if or not they had sold it (it was on the cello. wrapper). System may have changed since then but might be worth going in and having a look to see if they still do this first. Hope you are lucky though.

I've not seen any stickers on the perfumes. Most do have an alarm sticker, but mine didn't, but they never questioned it at all.

can you ask them where they got it from and take it back there?? doesnt seem right to take it into boots for a refund when it wasnt bought from there - there may be something on the barcode etc that when scanned wont go through and then they will know (surely most shops have different bar code systems)

You are not really doing anything wrong as they will just put the perfume back into their stock, so they are not losing anything by it.

Its not really a refund, its an exchange. You are not asking them to give you money back that wasn't spent there, just swapping it for something else.

    Hi :)

I don't know if it's different for gift sets but I just checked 2 x Dior gift sets that I bought and they have a silver strip on the bottom

I am struggling to find the post that gives us details of why everyone is buying shower gel, think I read it is Imperial Leather and also Carex handwash. Can anyone tell me where to find out why this is a good offer? Can't find it in the first post.

That's the alarm sticker, the two bottles I took back did not have those, but it wasn't questioned.

They could have got it at boots as they go in nearly as much as me and wasn't there perfume vouchers around before xmas time? I don't really want to ask them as they might twig i didn't want it. I was going to sell it on ebay as not really bothered about getting the full price with it being a gift. i might still do that then.

ah ok didnt think of it like that - maybe it would be wise to say ' this was bought in another store but can i get my refund here' first though just so they say 'of course' in that helpful way boots are know for :rotfl: maybe my personal line of what my concience will let me do is just way off the mark of others - think i need to toughen up a bit!! :rotfl:

I wouldn't, you won't get as much back. I'm sure you will have no trouble, as long as it is a brand they sell. The worst they can do is say no - you'll have to give it to me then to take back for you!!

I don't really think conscience comes into this one much really, they are not losing by it....well I suppose they are if they are going to give you a voucher, but then, most people are spending more than the voucher, so they are going to gain anyway.
