Thank you all for the good wishes!!

I am working at home today, but just been to take my dog for a lovely long walk on the local country park. We go everyday, but don't usually get as long a walk as I'm usually in a hurry, so we're both enjoying the day.

    Oops - sorry off topic!!

I might have a wander to Boots later!!;)
  • I am not under the radar in Boots Basingstoke!

I had a bit of an argument with the No.7 consultant there on Tuesday as Boots CS told me that the store had 60 P&P sets in their stockroom but she denied this. Then my H went in the next day and got the same story. Only when he asked her to call CS herself whilst he was listening did she go and look in the stockroom. Guess what she found there!

Today she was trying to stock me from getting a free illuminator with the heated eyelash curlers. She claimed it was only free with skicare or cosmetics despite the fact the voucher says 'No.7 PRODUCT'. I won much t her disgust, but she then refused to even try the £5 off voucher. I'm going to take it back to a different store later for a refund.

Then she wouldn't let me get 150 points for buying the £20 p&p set as the voucher from the ACM didn't include sets. Was annoyed but called CS who added the points manually!

I don't think I can go in there for a while now!

They are moving the tills to be along the wall where the hair stuff is. The display units are being made narrower so they can get more counters in, although they are not going to hold so much, so will be a nightmare to keep them stocked I would think.

You need to get what you want to the value first, then take it to get the refund and tell them you want to exchange, that way, they refund then put your items through as a cash sale, so you get the voucher. I actually ended up with 2 vouchers for one of my refunds, because I wanted the Insolence gift set, but picked up My Insolence by mistake, so went back to the counter and asked if I could exchange that as I had got the wrong one, they did, and I got given another voucher!! So not only did I get 3 gift sets and a bottle of perfume but also 3 x £5 vouchers for the two bottles I took back.
    Well pleased!!:T

Umm just looked the perfume up on .com and it says it is £32. Will i really get that amount as it def wasn't from boots as i know the person who gave it me wouldn't spend that much on me for christmas. I Can't decide what to get hope i do get £32 worth of goodies i take it i don't have to choose another perfume do i? ive got 5 bottles on the go so don't really want anymore.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)

I think you'll be able to take it back to Boots but I don't think they give refunds as gift cards anymore - I think (could well be wrong!) that if you don't have a receipt, you can only do an exchange, so you would need to find an equivalent costing amount of stuff to swap it for. HTH
Hi Yes,if you take something back without a receipt they will only exchange not give you a credit note or a gift card!! Have had words with SAs about this as you can only spend a credit voucher or giftcard in Boots so what is the difference, but they wont have it!! Usually say, well its for my daughter and l dont know what she wants it exchanged for so will probably have to bring this item back as well!! However,at least you have a receipt for the new item if you do need to take it back, its just rather longwinded!!

Not bought any perfume at Boots for such a long time but when I worked there back in 2002 (is it really that long ago?!), they used to have a circular Boots sticker on so that if it was returned to them they knew if or not they had sold it (it was on the cello. wrapper). System may have changed since then but might be worth going in and having a look to see if they still do this first. Hope you are lucky though.

can you ask them where they got it from and take it back there?? doesnt seem right to take it into boots for a refund when it wasnt bought from there - there may be something on the barcode etc that when scanned wont go through and then they will know (surely most shops have different bar code systems)

My perfume was Chanel No 5 35ml and was £37 each. I took one back just after Christmas and the other one to Derby on Tuesday. You can have what you want, if the amount you spend isn't up to the value of the perfume I think they'll put the difference in points on your card.
They never asked me if mine was from there, only if I had a receipt. I said I hadn't as it was a present and I didn't like telling the person I didn't like it.

Don't forget you can use them in Tesco and Asda (SA willing!) without purchasing the product !!!!

Do you know if Sainsburys will take them as well?:confused:

it confused me as the bottom of the 75p palmolive voucher next to the barcode says boots more than once so i thought it would only be used in there???
