I splashed out on some Clinique today!
Clinique has only just arrived in my local Boots - well, been there 2 weeks now from what I heard. I just haven't been in for a while! They had a dinky little GWP on to welcome them to the store (not as nice as the one in Debenhams, but still nice). And they've just as of today started a 1000 points if you buy 3 items promotion too!
    I got:
Men's gel lotion (the oil free moisturiser) for my bf
    Quickeyes in BlueGrey
    CityBlock, SPF 40.
    It came to £43.50
I had a 250 points wys £25 from a kind swapper, 500 points wyb 2 items, 50 points wys £7.50 from the ACM, and a double points coupon, which wasn't supposed to work with the 500 points one, but it did! In total I got 1972 with the instore points promotion too. Paid with £30 pigsback vouchers and the rest as cash.
Then when I got home I phoned up to complain that I should have got points from my actual purchase, and not only from my double points coupon! The lady said she'd add the 172 points on for me :)

I just wish that when I'm going to spend over £30 I could get the extra points on £30 spend rather than the 50 pts on £7.50 spend! Of course if I'm only going to spend £10 then it's always the £20 or £30 spend coupons that are there!

Thought some of you might be interested in this:

If you go on the John Frieda web site you can sign up to join the Elite Members Club, it's free at the moment.
I've just had my welcome pack in the post and it included 3 x £2 vouchers for money off John Frieda - 1 for shampoo/conditioner, 1 for luminous colour glaze and one for styling,

Just a quick message to all the other Chester Bootsers:

They had plenty of the Highlights powders today.... But... they have started hiding the Island Glow flavour! They are all by the side of the tills hidden from view!!

The GWP / Highlights / £9.75 item worked like a dream again today - not at the No7 counter tho!!!:rotfl:
  • Has anyone seen the P&P sets any where in Manchester yet? I tried in 2 boots in Lincoln at the weekend with no success.

Actually from recent reports from fellow bootsers and my experience included you should not have received any regular points from that transaction at all (and by the same reasoning the double points should not have applied!! but there is small glitch there). I think that if an item earns you extra points you loose the normal points (4%). I think this is a relatively new rule.

When I bought 3 clinique hand creams in late Januray the total was £39, the points total was 1700 *offer points* (1200 when you buy 3 clinique + mailing coupon for 500 when you buy 2 clinique), so no regular points. I had used my double points coupon by then.

When I used the double points, I spent £17.68, but all but £2 of stuff had extra points associated, so no regular points there except 8 points. I did get the double points which was 4% of the total £17.68, so 68 points.

You were lucky that they added the extra points for you over the phone, because as you can see from the above transactions you do not earn them. Correct me if I'm wrong but this changed some time late last year. The funny thing is there is always a "glitch" with Boots, and though you loose out on the regular points you still earn the double points!!! Gotta love the guy who programmes the tills!!
