  • Just spied this on hotdealsuk

I was in my local Boots today (Newmarket Road, Cambridge) and they had a load of 50ml pots of Nivea Visage Anti-Wrinkle Cream reduced to £2. When I got to the till, each pot (I bought 4) earned 400 bonus advantage points, so effectively they paid me £2 to take each pot away!

Might be of use to someone

I've "been told" (by my bf!) that I MUST get the Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Classique" perfume (or edt). Unfortunately it's really expensive, and I haven't been able to find it much reduced online either. It's £60 for the 100mL EdP in Boots and Debenhams. I'd be grateful if you could find it cheaper :)
As its Valentine's day tomorrow, you ought to tell him to get it for you

    :) thanks for your comment.

i suppose i'm still being naive.... i havent used the bag yet (baby still hibernating inside me lol)

could do with some more tips ;)

Congratulations. My baby amazes me every day. I bet you can't wait for your little one to join you in the 'real world'. :j

You're not being naive at all - the best thing is to try things out.

Best tip - join all the parenting groups that supermarkets and stores offer and get as much free stuff as possible.

I've just had an email from Boots saying my parcel has been dispatched and all my free palmolive are on the order so I best make space in the cupboard for all the stuff coming tomorrow.

Thanks for all the hints and tips last night.

Hiya pinkytots and all and what a great lecture lol. You're not a Gemini are you? ;)

I read this before I dashed out (to Boots obviously lol), and it got me thinking about this "rush" on Gucci - excuse the deliberate pun :D I'll be honest, I love designer perfumes, but I've completely bypassed Gucci for some reason.

Now it's got me interested ;), and, like Daisy Flower, was given a stick sample of the Gucci by Gucci. So I'll stick one or the other on a wishlist lol. I never buy perfume for myself, (might make an exception for Pure Grace by Philosophy ;)) but I'll probably buy Gucci on reduced, as presents.

I'd never have even thought of it if it hadn't have been mentioned on here. The same goes for Insolence (which often gets a plug!) So I've already spent about £60+ in my head - all down to these Boots threads :)

Yourself, and a few others, should be getting discounts or bonus points at Boots :D As for the P&P sets .... you should be on staff discounts and BOGOF for them lol. I thought it was a pretty gift when I thought the newly packaged beauty serum was the body serum. So it was a real bonus finding out it wasn't - and bought two lol. (I still think the stores will have plenty of these in stock by the weekend btw). I can understand how they've sold out.

You only have to see how many people view the threads, then tell friends etc, to realise how the stampede began. (I blame you for the shortage LOL - and for me spending more than I should, but on a decently priced bargain gift, for a change :)).

Before the sales started, I'd skimmed over the Boots threads - I thought you were all crazy peeps rofl :rotfl: I'd even tell my OH about you all :o and I think he thought you were all a bit nuts too  lol. But if I'd have only read these threads a bit earlier, I'd have been quids in. I bought 3 sets of Dior Addict 2 - at full price. Imagine the savings if I'd done as I've done this year and bought 3 more, albeit smaller versions, for 1/3 off and points on top! Then there's also Quidco to be taken into account, and it's all thanks to these posts and posters.

Now, I'm like a demented woman rushing around Boots for all these bonus points (with the help of my sister - who thought she was Boots savvy until I mentioned a few of the recent posts lol, and my oh, who, all of a sudden, LOVES Boots  ;) ) and it's all you Bootsers faults ;)

But possibly the biggest lesson I've learned is that when someone spots a good bargain (not necessarily a glitch) is to wait. Because the bargain gets posted, everyone wants one lol, but a few posts later there'll be someone reminding us about Quidco, or that if you buy two you'll get one free, and so it goes on ..... and on ..... and on lol. A bit like the Palmolive stampede last night. But if you wait too long and it's gone, then it wasn't meant to be and it's not as if it's a life or death situation (although I worry about those early risers and how their sleeping habits have been affected :D).

Look at me now!! Writing long posts about nothing nor something, when I should be reading more posts, or my receipts from today's Boots shopping ;)

I'm off to look at my points total and see how it was achieved. If I found a bargain, (doubtful lol) I'll post it up later, but just wanted to say once again, a big thanks to you, and everyone else on here. It's a really close community imho :) x Thanks for the post :)

(If the recent online order goes through, does anyone know of a cheap storage unit for the mountain of sponges I ordered with the free Palmolive, please? ;) ) Colours c/o jamtart lol.

You ought to buy the Insolence now, the gift sets are still around and are only £17.33. I think I was the first to mention it on here, I love it.
I nearly got another one today. I went to change my second bottle of Chanel, was going to buy another Insolence ( I love the shimmering body lotion in that, and its twice as big as the body lotions in most of the others), but couldn't make my mind up whether to buy a Gucci 11 or Versace signature, so I ended up getting both of those instead of the Insolence.

I do feel a phone call to CS coming on though. I paid £21.33 for the Versace, just looked on .com and its gone down again from £21.33 to £16, so even with the postage, its cheaper on .com. Although it wouldn't have been for me, as I wasn't paying for it....well, I did have to put £4 odd. I wouldn't have had to though if it had been £16.

Think I'm going to ring up tomorrow and ask them if it should be £16 in the stores, if it is, I will take it back and buy it again (or swap it for Insolence lol).

There were no P&P sets today in Westfields.
I asked the NO 7 SA and she tried to sell me the £35 one, said she hadn't seen the £20 one.

I didn't want one anyway, but just thought I'd ask in case anyone on here wanted one.

it all depends what your looking for!lol

    )

I missed that one! I went into 2, one on the main high street, got my highlighter, and another smaller one, with some reduced no7, nothing great though. Is that big on on the main high street walking out from Oxford Circus underground stop?

That would be good if they have the P&P sets still on sale.....pay for 2 and get 3

If you wanted three, would it not be worth paying 3 x £15 = £45 for them and getting 3xGWP with them as well? You'd have to have a pink £5 voucher to start off with and do them in three individual transactions, but if you got a helpful SA who would put the points through from the GWP 250 points voucher, you could also get 500 points back. And you'd end up with another £5 off voucher...

(Not to mention getting your mitts on some more Illum powder......)
