Well aren't you a fountain of helpful knowledge. Going by the fact that a lot of the PC magazines give their PCs good reviews it is easy to see why people buy from them.

Maybe you should think about going back under your bridge now.

    you are quite right, Tony,
many people buy Eclipse because of the rave reviews. they assume they are getting a top knotch product and aren't trying to save money.
PC Pro are giving a rave review to the Eclipse Zenith i82n98GTX as we speak

apparently PC mags admit they turn a blind eye to bad (or good) customer service but this isn't made clear with a health warning in the reviews themselves.
PC Advisor (another mag who like Eclipse) say this is general to PC mag reviews and that it is unavoidable
"As I've said before, we (and other magazines) review computers, not companies. We test the hardware that is submitted to us, and we write reviews based on the results of those tests - it's the only way to do it."

I have been a loyal Eclipse customer for years (going back to the 386) I have never ever had an issue with them. I have bought all my computers from them going back to the Cirix processor.

of course unhappy customers complain more (so its good to hear another view, thanks for that)
but googling Eclipse in comparison to most other PC makers eg chillblast, PC specialist certainly makes me think that my experience with Eclipse wasn't a one-off, they have a mountain of complaints right up to the current date.

I see PC Advisor are touting the Eclipse Evolution i84n88GS at the moment ...

rest assured I won't be buying it

I see PC Advisor are giving another rave review to an Eclipsecomputers PC
    Eclipse Solar i85a465HD

its a shame they don't mention the poor feedback Eclipse gets for product reliability and after sales.
In fact PC Advisor states they specifically don't take into account customer service in their reviews claming its impossible
