250 g of mince to one slice of bread - this usually feeds 2 adults and 4 small children once its turned into meatballs! makes it quite economical as its quite filling.also can be frozen prior to baking if you end up with too many then just defrost as necessary next time. x

    Cool, thanks. :)

I suspect DW and I may polish it off ourselves, though we'll see!

I assume it could be frozen (in the sauce) after cooking too, and then just re-heated once defrosted in the microwave (till it's really hot)?

    • 4 onions, chopped
    • 4 cloves garlic,
    • 1 green bell pepper, chopped optional
    • Vegetable oil ( enough to cover ingredients)
    • Tin of tomatoes
    • 2 tablespoons dried oregano

    • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
    • 1/4 cup white sugar
    • 2 teaspoons of salt
    • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • Generous splurge of tomato paste

    1. In a slow cooker saute together the onion, garlic, green pepper, and vegetable oil. Cook until onion is transparent.
    2. Add the tomatoes, oregano, basil, parsley, sugar, salt, and ground black pepper. Cook for 2 to 3 hours on low heat.adding water to achieve desired consisitency.
    3. add tomato puree paste when nearly cooked to acheive desiered taste.
Not sure when you need to add meatballs or how much water sorry as I am ashamed to say I have not used my slow cooker it has been sitting in my kitchen for a whole three months now:o

I have not tried this it is from a book I have so cant vouch for it

Must be teaspoons? 4 tbsps is a lot of salt!
