Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Not necessarily. Mobile companies often charge a higher rate to call an 0800 number than they do a national number, ie one starting 01, 02 and possibly 03.
0800 = free?.................
0845= local rate?..............
0870= shared income nationalrate?.............
090= shared income premium rate?............
Mobiles always cost more and 0800 is not free!
Its that easy, why do people confuse everyone else woth their crap no wonder people end up being stung!0 -
Clearly they much prefer to be able to spam your mobile than have you call in via a landline.
At least they are upfront with what happens if a mobile phone is used for an enquiry and by using the service the conditions it operates under are being accepted. If marketing text messages to a phone are unwelcome the landline provides an alternative and a decent saving.0 -

So what is it that you are trying to convey to me?0 -

Well, you took some persuading they were "upfront" about all this!
How is the average person supposed to get at the truth - apart from you being fooled, papers and Which also believed their lies.0 -

I hadn't realised I needed persuaded. There appears to be no attempt at concealing anything on their website about how the service operates or is funded.How is the average person supposed to get at the truth - apart from you being fooled, papers and Which also believed their lies.
I'm puzzled about your reference to my being fooled.0 -

I am refering to your earlier post in this thread (#13)
There you wanted confirmation about the misleading claims they had posted here, quoting from their ts + cs to defend them.
You quoted their ts + cs saying they wouldn't send text spam (though as already pointed out, that extract from the ts + cs was out of context).
And generally appeared to defend them - eg. suggesting that Which was to blame for reprinting their lies without researching properly. Which had merely reproduced what they had been told in the misleading press release.0 -

Correct. The website makes a statement about mobile rates which could not be contrasted with the now non-existent post, which may or may not have been made by freedirectoryenquiries.comYou quoted their ts + cs saying they wouldn't send text spam (though as already pointed out, that extract from the ts + cs was out of context).

I gave you the quote from the "non existent post" gleaned from a cache. The posts were spam, misleading and broke MSE rules. I guess that's why they were removed from public view.
If you are concerned this has been fabricated, I'm sure the admin at MSE will be able to confirm the posts they removed which contained the press release.
You do seem keen to defend them - you have joined MSE today seemingly to do this. Do you have any connection with them?0
