AA or RAC or Green Flag or ????

A lot depends on the like for like cover and service quality.
The reason I stuck with AA apart from negotiating a better deal was that I wanted 2 persons, any car and full recovery. Some only offer one person in a named car. We have use of several and so I did'nt want to be stuck with a named car. Anyway if you are with the AA already and want to add the missus (or hubby) you may be able to do it for free if you threaten to join the RAC.
Also I have in my job attended accidents. The biggest problem I see is getting a company to come and recover the smashed up car. Most insurance based recoveries are hopeless. Some will only accept the request from the covered party. Not much good if you are unconcious in an ambulance! Anyway that's another story.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! There is already a long thread running about breakdown cover

Its worth reading as it discusses more suppliers.PF.0 -
I took N9eav's advice and phoned up the number "thinking of leaving" as a jump from last years joining fee (for me and my fiances cars) of £89 to £112 was way too much.
2 minutes later and I got renewed for £89 saving £23, also saved the hassle of swapping to Green Flag.
Makes me wonder how many people just pay it without questioning the hike.
In fact since I got my car insurance down by over £100 from the renewal quote this year I ask for better prices on everything like this and have got everything cheaper thus far. :jNever argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I tend to agree on this and it has just recently dawned on me that everything is negoiatble, whether it's for £5 or £500. Last year when it came to my car insurance renewal I told them we no longer had 2 cars and they up'ed it by £20, so I told her that the renewal had now become uncompetative and could they leave the price as it was, she didn't even have to think about it and agreed to it. Wish I had negotiated more!!!

I got my £10 M&S voucher yesterday as promised. So I know where my wife will be going today..... well it is raining.
I wonder what happens next year when they try and renew the cover for the full amount.... I guess I will threaten to leave?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
I'm going to phone AA and ask to add a second name to the membership, but try to upgrade from Opt 100 to 300 as I need homestart.
Stange thing is that my renewal letter says £24.31 as the next year's premium for Option 100 for one person. That seems quite low compared to the new member cost. Reckon they'd extend that discount to upgrade cover and cover second person free?
Alternatively, what's the vehicle based membership like??0
