really annoys me, my rating just been affected by someone obviously rating me lower on p&p charges.
Now RM charged me £1.38 first class post & I charged £1.50, & dispatched item in nice new padded jiffy type envelope, walked straight to post office in lunchtime as soon as item paid for!! Thought it was a bargain myself, honestly I sometimes wonder if people expect instant delivery for free!Who says I have to be normal?

I think people forget that P&P stands for postage and packing, not just postage... Personally if it was in a new jiffy bag and I could see that it cost £1.38 to send I'd be quite happy coz as far as I'm concerned £0.12 for a new jiffy bag is pretty good!

that's what I thought! Wouldn't mind if I was making money on p&p but the fact I deliberately keep it low & then someone doesn't appreciate it

also, it really brightens up my day when some absolute dunce starts emailing me regarding postage costs.
i sell a particular item on ebay and despite someone else selling a similar, pooroer quality item (they sell for £2 cheaper, but charge £4 for postage & don't take returns whatsoever), i charge £1.60 for first class postage (postage costs £1.35 & 25p for a jiffy bag) and offer full life time guarantees (which no one is yet to claim!), yet some absolute clown emailed me complaiing that i over-charged them by 25p for postage and they want a full refund & retain the item. needless to say they got told where to go.

no doubt they'd probably threaten to suspend my account for being in breach of a rule i've never heard ofcarolinosourus wrote: »haha i wonder what ebay would have to say about that!helpful tips

It goes to show just how subjective the Detailed Seller Rating stars can be.
How are we meant to maintain 4.6+ when there are people like that around? Even offering free postage does not guarantee a 5* rating!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Oh man, this totally relates to my ebay rant. Some people are so stupid. Unpoliteness is the worst. How long does it take to type an extra thank you or please?!0
-
Thats so right, thanks and please words create much better impression straight away, I hate rude demanding messages. Seems like some people think they're doing you a favour buying your item, I think it works both ways.
Re P&P prices. After ebay introduced DSR in march I decided to charge exact postage amounts(I was reusing jiffy bags) and see if my rating would be perfect! Time to time offering free postage aswell. After about 2 months and 30 ratings I was 4.8!!! Since then I'm charging postage price+packing price+handling(my time spent packing and visiting PO) 30-40% on top of that. If people couldn't be grateful for what they were getting, why should I be trying and charging them less?0
