HI, what I did was to open a new account into new bank (one that I had no prior business with) and then when new account was up and running (got my salary and tax credits going to the new account) I called my old bank and cancelled everything. They were ok with it as when you call and cancel you are dealing with "front desk" they don't look or ask why you are canceling them. Just remember if you do open new account NOT to allow the new bank automatically transfer you SO's and DD's. You can get a list of all your SO's and DD's from your old bank and then I just called everybody on that list (minus my creditors) with my new account details.

    Marru

Thank you for putting my mind at rest, Marru. I have a new account already and have transferred all my DD's myself, just a bit apprehensive to do the last bit i.e. take all the leftover money out and call them to cancel the DD on their own loan.

Really sorry to post with something positive when others are struggling but today I got a phone call from the mortgage company, asking if I was happy with what they could lend and if they agreed they would go to offer stage!

This is a huge relief as our mortgage is with a sub prime company and we pay nearly 10% we also have a secured loan with interest about 10.5% so we will be saving quite a bit on a rate of 6.34% and also knocking two years off the mortgage in total.

Huge apologies again for those struggling but I had to tell someone!!!

It is a huge relief really nice that a company see our DMP as being responsible too. In two years time if we are not late or don't miss any payments they will ignore our credit rating and put us onto one of there "normal" borrowers rates.

    So really pleased!

Thanks everyone I did feel a bit bad when people seem to be having so many teething troubles and I hope the good vibes rub off on others!

Ah I'm okay thanks - prescription slowly starting to kick in again! (Gotta go back to docs for more now - not looking forward to it as we've moved and it is a new docs - don't want to explain why I'm like this)

However, I'm starting to feel more in control again - so wrote to the Courts Service today to get their view on "hybrid" claims, Forthwith Judgments and Charging Orders in general - and asking what rights Debtors have left etc - get it from the horse's mouth so to speak :-))

So I'm getting back on track!

I'm so glad to hear your news - it gives us all hope that things can and do get better! :-))
  • well done rayday2. Good news keeps the rest of us going. The spreadsheet you emailed me is wicked- thanks.
I've now left CCCS DMP and set up my own payments to my creditors. All of them have just accepted that I will be making my own payments and seem to be fine about it.
