Sorry to hear about Cabot hamsterpoo. Hopefully they'll be alright about it as they'll see you've been paying religiously for all this time. Is there any way you could save up a bit to make a F&F offer? They might be desperate to settle? Hope you enjoyed Mariah ;)

  • Hello RS - may I call you that? - I don't know what it is with me .... honestly, I set off writing and it becomes a novel! Also doesn't help that my blummin username takes up a third of the width ha ha, so my posts always look twice as long! NOTE TO VOYEURS - PICK A RUDDY SMALL NAME!:rotfl:

Hello to all other oldtimers and newbies too.

    TMD xx

Hi TMD - yes, I think calling me RS is a much easier option - :rotfl:
Just going to get started on those token payment letters...sigh, but feeling very positive since I had my LBM this week and after all the replies and support. So sorry to hear about your dog, you must get another - i'm a mad cat woman!!
Whoopie hope you enjoyed the snowball and choccie, I had plenty of wine last night so it's back to reality today and a nice cup of tea to get me focussed :coffee: - hope everyone is having a good day today

Just got off the phone to Payplan and the lady was really lovely and helpful. The thing is, I feel sick as I think the reality of my situation is starting to hit home. I've not looked at my finances for so long and I've had to today and I feel like there's no hope.
Every question she asked me I had debt involved and when I was asked about my car I felt bad for having it.

(I bought myself a nice car 2 years ago as a treat for getting a new job. I got it on an options plan, and if i'm honest I want to get rid of it now as I cant afford it with the debts I have. Anyone know what the procedure for handing a car back is? Can it be done? I have the initial monthly payment, plus another payment to pay for the negative equity left on a trade in car).

I really don't think that there's anything that can be done. Is it normal to feel like this? I just want to take my dogs out and keep on walking etc... I've got so many concerns that I just dont know where to start - I feel like a faliure.
  • No I stopped with Alliance as at the time my credit rating was very good and now it is well.....crap.
I doubt that I`d be able to get a decent account with a debit card and t`internet banking, and anyway they sort of have done me a favour as MBNA card has been paid thanks to them robbing my account, but it wasn`t pleasant having to go to my dad and borrow some money to live on for a week until pay day!

Hi TakeittotheLimit - can I just check if your MBNA card was Virgin MBNA or one specifically taken out with Alliance and Leicester/MBNA - i'm a wee bit scared now as i've just set up an A&L current account for my wages to go into as they seemed to be the only one I wasn't owing money to...I've got a Virgin card which is my biggest debt so don't want them to swipe my money:eek:

  • B*gg*r! I typed a lovely long post for everyone, then hit something on the keyboard (don't know what) and lost the lot!

Anyway, I will try and remember what I said and post again later!

Have a good day everyone - the snow is beautiful! :)

  • rugby, we felt full of despair and anxiety at first, when the scale of the situation hit home. But, you will stop feeling like this, I promise. It's all very worrying at first, but when things start to happen and you feel in control, you will feel better. Just take each day as it comes and do not worry about things that might not happen (seriously, I worried about EVERYTHING at first and realised, with time, that it was pointless as it was making me ill and unhappy). Take the dogs out, but enjoy the walk and think nice thoughts. You will get through this.

RS - Payplan told us, last week, that MBNA cannot touch an Alliance and Leicester bank account unless the credit card is with Alliance and Leicester. So, we are going to continue banking with them as OH card is NOT an A&L card, but a BMI one (I think, there is so many of them!)
