that you have £1200 and £2000 in the account.

Do you mean you have £3600 in the ISA currently? And some little amount in the normal savings account as you took some out for garage payment?

    Hahaha ok :):)

Ok so you want to transfer out of that, the best is currently Intelligent Finance but there seem to have a lot of delays in opening the accounts.

If you can bare a lower rate there are 2 you could possible go for

    http://www.nsandi.com/products/disa/index.jsp (2.5%)
    and
    http://www.standardlife.co.uk/content/savings/isas/cashisa.html?source=hubhero (2.65%)

thats right! its so complicated isnt it!
basically we were left £4000 in a will,in cheque form, she is working abroad so i put her half with mine into the ISA(£400 in a normal savings account) as i bank with lloyds they said it wouldnt be very safe in the current account, how about an ISA, so i did!
then when i came home i did the research-i know i should have done it before:rolleyes: and found lloyds ISA rate to be carp!

Your right Lloyds ISA rate is crap but then so is most other providers. What is right is to have you money in an ISA to take advantage when the rates get better. You will also normally get better interest rates when you have more money to put into an ISA but of course this takes a few years for the fund to build.
  • Hi

Has anyone transferred ISA from A&L before? I'm not sure what address to send it to. Is there a particular department to send the Transfer form to?

I have the address for transferring ISAs to A&L but not away from them

Usually you would send the transfer form to the bank you are wanting to transfer the money TO. The receiving bank would then contact the bank from where the money should be coming from - they would normally do it all for you.

    Hi guys,

Yes that would be the usual process but I've applied to Intelligent Finance and they have asked me to print off a form and send it to A&L :rotfl:I'm just stuck for an address. Would it just be okay to send it to their registered address and let them pass it onto the relevant department?

I would suggest you hand it in at your local branch of A&L that way you can ask someone to give u a copy of that form signed that they received it from you.

  • I'm thinking of transfering my current ISA on a paultry rate to the IF ISA (2.85%) .......do they have any t&c's I should know about? Will there be a future exit fee?.......And is this the best offering out there at the moment for an easy access account. I don't want to tie up my savings for more than 1 year.....
"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

  • Just checked the top isa article and theres a now first direct instant access isa paying 3%, does anyone have any experience with first direct? I'm looking to transfer my £2400 from my lloyds ISA, i was gonna move it to IF but never got round to it, kinda glad now if the first direct account is as good in real life as it looks on paper.
