Is this actually worth anything or just a holiday scam?

I have agreed to go to a Seasons resort at the beginning of December, in exchange for listening to what they have to say. I didn't get a "you have won a free holiday" call/post but was recommended by someone I know. I don't know if I am doing the right thing and my other half isn't convinced
They have taken my credit card details over the phone and I didn't even ask why - I need to call them again I think. Does anyone know what that is for? If I say no to signing up am I going to be charged some kind of fee or even be made to pay for the weekend ?0
