Is this actually worth anything or just a holiday scam?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm--brand new poster who signs up to tell us all how wonderful a company is--when all others say don't touch it with a barge pole.
wonder who they work for then???
Somehow I had an idea that would be mentioned, but however I do not work for seasons and I am not a brand new to this site I have been using this site for a number of months now in particular the PPI section which might I add provided excellent help and advise and provided some success on some of my claims. But then again like most people using this site all we are looking for some help and advise.
I have read some good feedback and some bad feedback regarding seasons and if you have read any then you will notice that seasons are not afraid to post comments made by themselves and not some 3rd party.
As with most people in this country we are quick to jump and show what's bad and wrong with everything and everyone. Not everyone has had a bad experience it's just unfortunate not everyone that has a good one comments on it.0 -
Hi everybody,
Well, well, well - let me tell you a little about my background. I am a television researcher and a few years ago I conducted an investigation into a large holiday club company in the uk and I wouldn't touch any of them with a bargepole either.
The main thing to be concerned about is availability. Can you get the holiday you want at the time that you want it? If you have got kids or need to take holidays in the high season, will you be able to do so? They will only have x amount of places available and if most people want holidays at that time, then your choice is clearly greatly compromised.
If you do the maths, then it may possibly work out for you but there is a very large risk that it won't.
If it is such a good product, then why do they insist on trying to virtually bribe you to go? Does any other company emply these types of methods? Well, not really. And there is a reason for the highly pressurised sales pitch that they want you to go on.
The other issue we found with the holiday club that we investigated was that of mis-selling. For example, you may be told that £3000 will get you the holiday you want each year but the reality is that it may cost £6000 to get that holiday. So, what do you do? A lot of people, under pressure, then spend another £3000. £3000 that you didn't plan to spend.
Not saying that this company is the same but the 'free' prize, the pressurised sales pitch, the endless phone calls, the frustration of trying to call them and, yes, the people who suddenly appear on websites like these and with their very first post write reams and reams about how wonderful they are - sound exactly like the company we looked into.
It's your choice but I would keep well away.0 -
Me and my family are a member of Seasons Holidays and yes, although you have to pay a one off fee of around £3000 and each time you go on holiday you need to pay cleaning charges etc, it is a very good deal. Depending on which option you choose (peak, low season etc), you can get a weeks holiday or weekend away in Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, Lanzarote, Spain and Portugal in high quality resorts for under half the price you would pay at a travel shop.
All the resorts are friendly with a high standard of hygiene. You simply ring up, up to a year before you wish to go on holiday and book the week and you will only need to worry about flights then. All resorts are self catering however.
With joining Seasons Holidays, you can also become an International Member where you do an exchange deal with people from around the world and you can go to places such as Australia, Africa, America etc etc.
My family have been a member now for a good couple of years and have been to Portugal, Lanzarote, Ireland and in October we will be going to Spain. In our personal opinion, we love going to Lanzarote as it is a small resort with about 30 apartments and the island itself is very scenic with no high-rise buildings.
If you are in two minds whether to sign up or have any questions, you can reply to me or you can visit their website where you can view all the resorts with tours and read other peoples opinions on the club.
Hope this helps in any way,

I have received a letter from this company offering short cheap breaks, it was sent to me as a lending customer with GE Money, has anyone had anything like this, now I am wondering if this is also some scam (some how)0

I havent posted much on the forums i usually use them to find information but use this site before i buy anything. I have been a member with seasons holidays for about 7 years now, yes the initial outlay was expensive, but the holidays that we have had with them have more than covered that. We dont tend to use the seasons resorts themselves except for weekend breaks, we have just come back from cornwall where we had a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the golf course for £50 for the weekend. We use our membership to trade within the interval international timeshare resorts and have had several wonderful holidays in USA in LA, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City all staying at Marriott resorts which have been amazing and would have been out of our budget had we had to pay full price for them. The difference is now wherever we go on holiday with our timeshare we have a luxury 2 bedroom apartment rather than the 4 of us all sharing a hotel room. Yes its true you cant guarantee that you get the resort you want at the time you want but if you can be flexible it is well worth the money.
Having said that the prize they are offering is not worth taking up but it can be used as part exchange to upgrade to a week in higher season.
We always get a visit from guest relations when we are staying at the resorts trying to sell us the latest package but if you say you are not interested they dont push.
In case anyone is wondering no I dont work for seasons, I am a civil servant who loves to travel in luxury at budget prices, it works for us but not everyone0
