it went fine,so thanks all. now another question, can i reheat again what is left tomorrow?
Hi, its abit late now, but I personally wouldn't keep on re-heating, its not the pasta thats a problem its the sauce thats around it.
I make a big bake and freeze in portions. It does go hard when defrosted, but if you cover with more sauce and cheese and *re-heat, its fine.
I did this tonight, I was abit worried that it would be hard pasta bake swimming in milk  but no it worked fine. but no it worked fine.
*I personally re-heat in the oven, gas mark 6 for 30 mins, but thats only because I've only recently bought a microwave.0

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing reheating thread :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0

            Hi
 Can anyone help?
I want to reheat a mince hotpot type dish that I made and froze last week.
I want to cook it from frozen, what temperature should I put it on, I realise it depends how big the meal is as to how long it will take.
 Thanks

Are you cooking it or reheating? If it is still frozen, try something medium....160 or so, no idea about gas...or can you put it on a defrost setting....there is one on my oven but have never used it. Make sure that it is hot all the way through before eating itWeight 08 February 86kg0

I would put in oven at about 140 degrees turn up to 180/200 about 45mins before serving and once fully defrosted. Stir well about every 30mins if you can0

Sorry cant be much help but i would have guessed if its frozen it needs at least 35-45 mintues longer (If its a family sized one for example) than you would normally cook it at and maybe a alightly lower temp. My only other suggestion would be to defrost it in a microwave first instead of cooking from frozen?0

            Hi thewestfive,
As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the main thread on reheating because your question may help others.

Apologies for the daftness of this question.
I am making a sausage casserole in my slowcooker today but I know I will have enough left over for tomorrow. How should I store it and cook again for tomorrow?
Will I store it in the fridge once it's cooled then put it in the oven tomorrow to heat it up?

That's exactly what I would do. As long as it's kept in the fridge and reheated thoroughly it should be OK.
Of course you could always invite me & OH round for dinner then you wouldn't have the problem!! Sounds delicious!! :j New Year, New You = 1.5lb/12lb:j0 Sounds delicious!! :j New Year, New You = 1.5lb/12lb:j0

            haha - thanks for that.
My boys would live on sausages for breakfast lunch and dinner so I am trying to use them in different ways.
They ate chicken chasaur from the slow cooker the other night, I was very surprised at that so decided to give this a go.
Can I do the same with Chicken? I'm never sure with that.Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts
