Asda national policy is to accept coupons, internet printed, or clipped from a magazine (only 1 of each if you HAVEN'T bought the product) for 10% of the value of your total shop. The cashiers and even customer service may dispute this, but it is policy set at the head office. The store manager can at his/her discretion take vouchers for more than 10%, but they must take them for up to 10%.
If you are buying the product you can use as many vouchers as amount of product you are buying.
I don't know what their policy is on other stores vouchers, but they will price match other stores with a copy of the other stores advertised price.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

my asda will not accept internet coupons, ever.

mhoc i went to asda stafford today and they took ten percent, as usual. my asda will take lots of coupons for the same item, today i used 50 warburtons coupons, a total of £10 and a couple of oxy zing ones, so i've used all my july coupons now. if asda do stop taking coupons i can just shop at tesco instead, they only take one of each coupon type but at least my coupons i have left now are all valid for 6 weeks or more.

the lad on the till did point out a new notice they all have sellotaped to the tills, staff side saying 'we now only accept tesco and sainsburys coupons'. while i presume this means don't take coupons for say farmfoods or iceland i suppose some staff could understand it to mean that they no longer take manufacturers coupons

Asda Llandudno took my vouchers today. I only spent £18 handed in £12.50 in vouchers(3 from the mail book tokens). Cashier checked with supervisor who said it was ok. So I think its back to what side of the bed the cashier/store got out of that morning!!

I rang Crewe Asda and was told only 5% of the bill but yesterday she took a £1 coupon off a £10 bill. Stoke take 10% - I checked with the cusotmer service and the cashier knew this as well.

Does anyone shop at Stafford Asda or Winsford.

Mind you thye are supposed to be the cheapest supermarket in Britian so cant really complain

Mhoc I thought Crewe Asda had stopped taking any coupons about 12 months or so ago so I`ve not tried them for a while. Winsford will take 10% and very occasionally a bit more. Hope this helps.

Its the same as it is with Tesco - depends on the store and the individual cashier. My ASDA won't accept internet coupons (unless the you get the young lad) but will accept up to three of the same voucher and up to 30% of total shop. But then every now and again they mess you up like last weekend when the cashier would only take the money-off newspapers/magazines coupons if you buy the newspaper/magazines they refer to which was really irritating cos I had a load of those Harpers & Queen coupons from The Times. She even called the supervisor who confirmed this has always been their policy despite the fact that I have been happily using newspaper coupons for about eighteen months and have done there twice since so fortunately it is only the one cashier and the supervisor who are aware of the policy!!!

It is NOT the same as Tesco, I have spoken to both head offices and have had letters expalining their national policy.
It is up to Tesco's individual managers to accept or decline vouchers.
It is Asda policy to accept internet printed coupons up to 10% (and more if the manager OK's it), but I think most are stuck at 10% now.
If you speak to or write to Asda HO they will send you a letter confirming this which you can then show when you present your internet printed vouchers at Asda, this will stop any problems with cashiers or CS not knowing their policy, or claiming that they do not aceept these vouchers.

The policy I was told when I was on checkouts was that only 10% of coupons can be accepted. Coupons offering for a free product could only be used if that product was being purchased. The same goes for internet coupons. But things may have changed now, I'll try and find out more!

    check this out

i spoke to asda customer relations to confirm they're coupon policy today ....a gentleman confirmed the policy is to accept any manufactures coupon even if you have'nt bought the product...he was quite blatant in saying that there is no max and if it covers your whole shop so be it..(as long as we stock it and the coupons are in date) he goes on to say at the end of the day we dont lose financially, it drives more custom through our doors so everyone wins....he promised to speak to my local branch to confirm this policy and if i have any probs in the future to quote his name and have them call customer relations!

went to tesco yesterday...did a £40 quid shop and had £10 in coupons.....no problems..saturday is great for young men at the tills! whilst leaving I noticed on my reciept the a £5 coupon hadnt come off but not returned to me...so returned to collect it as i know they closed the check out after my shop....a senior member was with the young guy..she open the till to return my coupon and noticed it was somerfield and said the we dont take somerfield coupons anyway...so she said she was actually going on her rounds to train up everyone on the coupon policy and showed me a fax that was in her hand..the policy is gonna be restricted to 10% and no coupons from any supermarket except sainsbury's discount coupon ie. £10 off £40 shop due to people stealing coupons and coming in other various branches with wads of the same vouchers that had obviously never been distributed to the public in the first place.

i think too many people have caught on to this benefit..look at ebay....enjoy it while it lasts!

Just got home from Asda (Leyton Mills). I spent £40 and the man on the checkout wouldn't accept any coupons at all! He said you have to buy the product, even though I know this is not the case.

My husband usually does better when he goes in the evenings.

I didn't make a fuss as I was treated quite badly there last time this happened. On that occasion I wrote to the store manager and head office but haven't heard back from either of them.

I just put my coupons away for next time.

Was in Asda about an hour ago. Customer services told us that they won't accept coupons unless you've bought the product. :(

Just back from the same Asda as last time and this time they accepted the coupons even though we didn't buy the product.
