I am confused about the rules regarding deposits of new money into the FRISA...
Am I allowed to drip feed into the account during 08/09, or do Lloyds only accept a single lump sum?
I made an initial deposit this week, and am wondering whether I am able to make further deposits to fully use my allowance? (Especially if the account is soon to be withdrawn as people are saying)
Any help would be appreciated0 -
Can definately confirm 6.5 offer ends after saturday 12 April. On Monday the rate will be 5%0

That is only for new account openings isnt it rather than transfers in which arrive after that date?0

But you if pay tax then you won't actually be getting 6% in your savings account.
20% tax makes the 6% into 4.8% net.
Unless anyone can predict what interest rates ISA will be next April, then there is no way of saying what is the best course.0 -

Local branch said today that ISA's opened on Saturday will be processed as being opened on Monday so will only qualify for 5%0 -
Just been to my local branch to open the isa and was told that there was no-one available to see me and that I could make an appointment for Monday. I then said that I had heard the offer was being withdrawn today, the guy then phoned someone who confirmed that the offer is still on and should be for a while yet. So there is some misinformation being given at at some branches (This was the Islington, London branch by the way)
They will still offer ISA's on Monday but the max rate will be 5%, the 6.5% special will not apply to accounts opened on Monday onwards.0 -
Hi, Went in at Lunchtime to Add This years subscription to the FRISA opened on Wednesday (with a couple of Transfers).
The bloke that opened it for me said :-
"they pulled the plug last night, or at least first thing this morning - they've pulled it ",
so aren't I lucky - or was e' pullin' my chain ?0 -
I work in branch, and as far as I am aware any ISA's opened tommorrow will qualify for 6.5% rate. I fact we have extra staff in tomorrow to deal with it. I saw a briefing today, and it stated that any ISA's opened on saturday would qualify.
If anyone is going into a branch please take the following:
ID (passport or driving lic is great as can be used as single ID, existing customers may not require this.)
NI Number
Details of existing ISA including acc number. Preferably a statement, a copy of which can be sent along with the transfer.
And please allow enough time. You will probably have to wait to see someone, and they will be rushed off thier feet. Saturdays are busy anyway. Most branches are only open until lunchtime, but some are opening specially or later.
PS None of my comments are official, this is just my observation, not offcial LTSB statements.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.
