I got interest on my 6.5%ISA from the date the account with my old ISA providor was closed, although it did not appear in my new ISA with Lloyds for another month. So no lost interest at all as a result of the transfer.

I did not bother to ask for clarity or get any promises. I just expected it to happen and was not disapponted.

I am benefiting from the slow xfer process with 6.5% until June so this year's 3.6k has gone in and I have just noticed last years A&L that was paying 10% is now down to 5.8% so that can be transferred in as well. Finding a good home for the funds come June time may be more of a challenge...
    I think....

You should have received a letter from LTSB earlier this year indicating that the date of maturity of your FRISA would be one year from the date that the first deposit was received into your account, not from the date of account opening.
When LTSB wrote to warn me that my 6.5% FRISA was maturing, they said they were waiving the 90 days' loss of interest if I withdrew early. Generous? Hardly - the most interest I could get, in another ISA with them, at any rate, is now 3.2% fixed and 1.5% variable!

You're not gullible enough to have believed that LTSB would be generous, surely?

3% fixed with the Halifax and that allows some penalty free withdrawals.

139467 - Sorry, but you are not eligible for this ISA product, as you have either opened an ISA or deposited funds to an existing ISA this tax year. Please refer to the eligibility criteria for further information.
