12 months free Line Rental

  • You'll often find that such deals often apply to a particular handset + particular network - research is the key! http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/ is a good site that reviews most handsets, and look at each networks' site (eg/ http://www.vodafone.co.uk) for an idea of network coverage and customer support.

It's geenerally accepted that the GSM 900 networks (O2 and Vodafone) offer better signal strength because of the frequancy, but the best advice I can offer here is to ask a friend or colleaque of the performance in your area.

You may want to look at https://www.microlinemobiles.com who are currently offering a deal on 3 with free 12 months line rental and a Motorola C975 handset. Other offers are listed as well. The deals usually involve cashback after month 6. I have used them in the past and have not had any problems with cashback. Also the company has 2 shops in London where you can go and get your cashback.

https://www.simplymobilesonline.co.uk also offer similar deals and again have a shop in Neasden, London.

    Hope these help.

If you are prepared to play the 'cashback game' the following offer on e2save.com is pretty hard to beat:
LG 8120 on the 3 network's Talk and Text 600 for 2.99 a month (12 month contract). After cashback from 3 and e2save you pay 35.88 for the year. Go through RPoints and you get 1500 points (£15).
Total spend for one year - £20.88 and the phone's free!
There may be better deals but I've not found one.

It's true that the user will save money by using rpoints alan, but they will save more if they use Heather's suggested method at the top of this page.

Doingso they will reduce the rental to £9/year, much better than the The e2save deal is very attractive because the £80m that is initially raised to your card lowers the exposure before cashback.

    Thank you

As far as retailers go, best you can do is use one of the established players. I'd not have a big issue going with
    - The link
    - Carphone warehouse
    - Mobileshop (excellent CS)
    - DialAPhone - never tried them, but as long as understand T&Cs they're a big player?

I've used mobileshop for phones a few times - now on second cashback. They did refuse me one cashback payment, but it was my own fault, I missed the dates.. that's the deal. Annoying/frustrating but ... c'est la vie.
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots

Totally OT but a bit of conversation piece... I saw the comments earlier about 12 versus 18 month contracts.

The first mobile phone I ever had was an analog carphone in about 1988 with an airtime provider called "Nokia Mobira" and they wanted a ten-year contract! I was a skinflint even back then so needless to say I didn't get stung for it but is that just king of the try-ons or what.

Thought this was a good 12month FREE contract on orange with a free Sony Ericsson K300i

  • I have taken out four mobile phone contracts with Dial-a-Phone. They offer cash back if you return your mobile phone bill throughout the 12 month period. The last phone they offered me was free and the line rental was free as well. This included 500 minutes any network any time and 100 free texts through "3". The only thing I have to do is remember to send back the right bills which is fine if you are an organised moneysaver - that's me!

With all four phones they have always redeemed my vouchers and have informed me when it would go to my bank account. Have to say they are amazingly efficient in my experience and I would probably not shop anywhere else right now.

Hope someone else gets as good a deal as I have been getting.
