bankruptcy for me

what reall ymakes me laugh is that the calls from HSBC are either ''why haven't you paid yet?' or 'we notice you haven't got a bank account plus yet'. Are they stupid?0

Abbey are now saying they can't close our joint acount until march because they've paid interest into the account and need to take it back which they can't do until march 1st!!!
HSBC have taken a loan payment out of the joint account (2days after we asked for it to be closed) even though the account was at £0.00! So now they won't close that. Things keep getting worse and worse.
I've now go to decide if i'm going to use my credit card to bring the HSBC account up to £0 again so it can be closed and i can request that my partner is disassociated from me financially or just go bankrupt anyway and my partner will have to suffer the consequences (whatever they may be)!
Everytime i think i'm getting close to being able to take control and sort things out, another problem gets thrown in my path!
I'm at a complete loss as to what to do now.0 -
Hi Mum, i think if you used your CC to bring HSBC up-to-date, you could be in trouble when you go BR, as your favouring a creditor....The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

That is a difficult one.
It could certainly be seen as taking out credit in order to gain an advantage for yourself or your partner.

Does this count even thought its a HSBC credit card and a HSBC account?? This gets more and more complicated.
I was reading another thread where someone said it will normally be overlooked if someone has used a credit card for bankruptcy fees- is that a bad idea??0 -
Yes I am afraid it will count as favouring, sorry!
Most OR's do tend too turn a blind eye to using the card one last time to get the money for the BR fee's.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Thanks for all the info everybody! Better to go into this armed with as much knowledge as possible!0

Received the HSBC joint account statement on friday and it seems they 'transfered' the loan amount back into the account and closed it! Could it be because we requested the account was closed before they took the money? The ''customer services'' person on the phone said it was the discretion of the branch whether or not they'd do that so they can't give me any information about it.
As long as the accounts closed, i'm happy!
Hope everyone had a brill valentine's xx0 -
Had a call from HSBC late last night to inform me that i'm a month behind with my loan repayment- i explained about being on maternity leave and that my employer wouldn't take me back part-time so i was having to hand in my notice so i have no income! The lady said she was very sorry to hear that and then asked have i been handing in application forms elsewhere? And then went on to tell me i should get myself down the job centre today! I was so shocked to be receiving job searching advice from the bank that i laughed out loud!
I have told HSBC that i've stopped paying on the advice of CCCS because i only have enough money to pay utilities & buy food (the guy who called about my missed credit card repayment said he was closing my credit card account because i had been in contact with the CCCS- i don't care that its been closed but i'm shocked thats their reason for doing it!!)
I haven't told them i'll be going bankrupt- is this a mistake? Should i be completely honest with them? I'm worried that if i tell them my plans they'll force debt collection before i'm ready to go bankrupt (i'm waiting for a joint account with abbey to close so i can disassociate myslef from my OH financially) & i am having serious problems dealing with abbey in regards to closing the joint account but thats another whole kettle of fish!0
