I would do as you are thinking but also tread carefully with hsbc. make sure that you get an agreement in writing to pay off the overdraft, as i think they are the kind of bank which would either demand it back immediately or look at putting both the loan and overdraft on a managed loan. My daughter and her husband had bank account with them and boy did they get slapped down, their overdraft was cancelled and charges applied ddebits were bounced, and itwas a nightmare situation for them. They didn't tell me about it till later and i could have helped them out of it.one of the charges related to going £4.89 over for a pint of milk and something else they bought at the shop, used card to pay and thought money had gone in - would have been fine if told overdraft facility had gone received letter two days later and too late to do anything about it. They told me about it 6 months after and i pointed them to this website. Think it cost them over £500 in the end. So please be careful with them.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hi Andrew,
It's so good to see the "proud to be dealing with my debt" on your signature, almost a statement of "I've come to terms with it all and I'm getting there". keep it all up and you WILL.

Hey again all,,
Ok a bit of an update..
I have recentley opened a new bank account with Alliance and Leicster and I want to use this as my main account so that HSBC dont take any more money of me other than the agreed amount.. So I have informed my HR department and my wages r going to be paid into my new A&L account..Already we r on the 23/2 and I get paid on the 29th and I want all my DD to go from my new account...A&L are doint the DD switch for me but I wanted to know how long this process takes as want all my DD to go out on the 1st of ever month?
I Hope I have made the right decision to move Banks
Many thanks in advance
