How do I add more than three lines to my signature? And how do I type a double space?

Options
Just wondering how I add more than three lines to my signature? If I try and add a fourth it tells me I'm only allowed five, but I've only got three and only want four.

Please don't reignite the debate about the introduction of the new rules here, it is a genuine question to which I haven't been able to find an answer yet.

The other thing that has really bugged me since posting here is that whenever I enter a double space in my signature or a post it automatically turns it into a single space. Anyone know how to keep the double space?
I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?

I don't know how to keep the double space other than doing it manually:

When I post instructions on how to do something & need a bigger than 1 line gap between 2 bits of the instructions, I put a . in the start of the new line then change the colour to white

    .
If you highlight the gap you'll see my little space saver hiding in there in white text ;)
This means that I can have a double line space - but it is a bit of a McGyver way to do it! :D
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Thanks for the suggestion VelvetGlove, but what I am trying to achieve is a double space. I suppose the same principle applies to spaces as it does to new lines, but it seems a long winded and messy way of doing something and it only works if you keep the background white.

  • I am not interested in the double spacing but would like to know how to get my signature to save. I don't appreciate being told that I have exceeded the new limits when I only have 4 lines. It is very frustrating.

Oh, how I long to be able to have four lines. :)

What are you on about? You HAVE 4 lines already (which I agree with the previous poster, your debts are of no interest to me, I have enough of my own).

What I meant was the I was trying to edit my signatute to make it more compact and shorter, but it won't save it regardless of how long/short it is.

Update: managed to get it to work today, changed it to less characters too and it accepted it.

I can only see three, maybe you need to change the resolution of your monitor, but I definitely only have three lines.

I'm not really interested in what competitions you've won or how you want to moan about people's incorrect use of hyperlinks, but I'm not going to start moaning about it.

I was only asking a couple of questions about how to edit my signature within the new rules, not looking for input over the content of it.

    Hiya hon,

    Nothing wrong with McGyver!

I think in the current situation it's whatever works hon, although it is galling to lose all that coding "space" to a space.

    HI,

If you want to have more space between the lines then when you edit your signature you can see an icon (I think 10th from the left) when you hover your mouse on top of it says increase indent. By clicking that you will have bigger space than just one line.

    I hope this helps.
