    Thanks for the ideas. A few years ago I stuffed it full of the 'old favourites' One of the bendy plastic snakes, bottle of bubble mixture, whooppee cushion etc. It was a great laugh

    Another one is a jewellry making kit of sorts, or crossstitch kit. We bought some for our teenage girls last year and it kept them quiet for hours on end.

    I still get a christmas stocking at home - Mum made each of us one, as and when we were born. That makes mine (ahem) several years old!

    Basically she took a plain pillowcase and customised it with felt pieces. Mine has my name on it and a christmas tree. My sisters have their names and holly or mistletoe felt pictures on theirs.

    Every year in the bottom of my pillowcase I always get an apple and a tangerine. They are great to see you through the present opening period and stops me delving into the sweeties too early in the morning!

    As for little stocking fillers for teenage girls, what about putting together a 'beauty pack' comprising of all the facil freebies availbale through the freebie page. wrap a selection in some tissue paper and voila!

    what about a little tub of vaseline for lips - only about 99p I think.

    a pair of socks can be fun too.

    what about using the computer to make up some ideas. For example, personalised bookplates.

    as a teenage girl.. although I'd like to think I'm an adult these days ;) (almost 19!! !!!!!!!!)

    erm.. writing paper - I still use a lot of it.. have a lot of long distance internet friends which I like to write to when I have time.. usually 20 sides of A5 style mammoth letters when I actually bother :)

    I also still write thankyou letters for every birthday present/christmas present I recieve if I don't recieve it personally so can't thank them there and then.

    I also had diaries.. but I hated diaries with set areas to write in.. just had a nice notebook which I'd write loads in some days.. then not for a while.. then loads again.. was better because in a normal set diary you end up leaving some days blank and then overfilling others..

    as for present ideas..

    I might be strange but makeup and stuff is awful.. you always get loads from school mates because it's cheap so it's nice to have different things in stockings..

    erm..

    * glow in the dark stars for my room,
    * small pack of fairy lights,
    * candles,
    * books - as a young teenager 12-14 y.o I loved the babysitters club series so used to get lots of them each christmas..
    * knickers and socks are always good..
    * cool pens - gel pens, smelly ones, highlighters, glittery ones etc.
    * CAMERA FILM - if they have cameras get them film - you always need it for christmas.. or a disposable camera..
    * glow sticks
    * pritt stick, selotape, other bits and pieces like that..
    * umbrella or scarf + gloves
    * batteries..

    used to get some really random things like christmas tree seads and stuff which were great..

    I love this site!! But 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year, so can't have any of these :'(.

    Our alternative is https://www.sugarfreesuperstore.co.uk. They have loads of diabetes-friendly goodies. They are quite pricey, and of course, you do have to bear in mind the diruetic effect of the sugar substitutes involved, but for a "now and then" treat, they're fine.
