stocking fillers for teenage girls

  • Thanks for tips lellie really useful. I have two girls and I am trying to avoid make up epecially as one of them hates it. Did find a cool pack of lip balm, one flavour for every day of the week (more practical than gloss so not classed as make up in our house) in Wilkinsons along with mini clip boards and packs of pencils.

I love this site!! But 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year, so can't have any of these :'(.

Did you know that THORNTONS do a diabetic range. I'm sure the range in the shop is bigger i.e the small bags of chocolates for a couple of quid.
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)

Just realised my post makes absolutly no sense :-[.

What I was trying to say was; on the internet they only sell big posh boxes of chocolates but in the shops you can get little bags of chocolates for a couple of quid.

  • found in my local tkmaxx yesterday, although they were in the mens department they are unisex, small sizes and have pastel shades in colour.... Diesel knitted gloves, currently selling in departmental stores for £18, in tkmaxx £5!! would make nice stocking fillers.
Teenage girls would like these as very fashionable and will keep there digits warm this winter!

Our alternative is https://www.sugarfreesuperstore.co.uk.  They have loads of diabetes-friendly goodies. They are quite pricey, and of course, you do have to bear in mind the diruetic effect of the sugar substitutes involved, but for a "now and then" treat, they're fine.

aww one of my best friends from school was diabetic.. :) I used to often buy her a treat from thorntons.. they do little bars of diabetic treats for about 70p which were a great to cheer her up.. my local chemist did sweets and jam and things too..

She often "liked" being diabetic at christmas because everyone else would get chocolate but she'd get something different that she'd be able to keep.. where as chocolate just gets eaten and forgotten.. meant her presents were often more special :)

Well I have just returned from the USA after a short FREE break thanks to KLM frequent flyer miles, anyway. We folks in the UK are soooo ripped off! Found some great stocking fillers in Wallmart for less than £2. Went to T J Maxx, (same as Tk) and got quicksilver T-shirts for less than £4 each. Billabong and Quicksilver Hoodies for only £8. I am sorted... Our UK prices just make you vomit!
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!
  • my nearly - 18 - so- that- makes- me -old-but -i-wont-give-up-the-pink-hair-yet daughter has had a stocking every year (the same long red sock of mine from school how the hell its survived intact i dont know)

it usually has a couple of nice bits of makeup, but the rest is jokey stuff - one big hit was the putty stuff in a mini tube that makes a farty noise when you stick your finger in (sorry, but it really was a funny pressie)

fruit & choccie coins are a must, so is a pair of comedy pants (either strippers knickers or huuuuge pants), odds & sods from the childrens part of shops, silly bits & bobs

surely the point of stockings is that they are a bit of cheap & cheerful fun, & its the thought rather than the cost? or am i just being naive here?

(shuffles off carrying the lightbulb from room to room & muttering bah humbug loudly)

Agreed. And I'm sure you and I are not the only ones who look at the ads saying 'Stocking fillers from £5.99 / £9.99 / £14.99!', shake our heads and think "I don't think so!"

Although I must admit I've never indulged my sense of humour in this way because even if I only paid 50p for comedy pants for my boys, I know it would be a complete waste of money, they would NEVER be worn and not really appreciated!

This year I've stooped to Christmas socks, but I'm not expecting to see them worn ...
