Morning all
galantvr4 - I think I might have had to throw that hamper away.....:D
Welcome to samphire (is that seaweed?)
AnW'sMum - I didn't realise your DH was in the police either
Pink Fairy - I think you need to turn off the phone and pull the curtains and hide for the day.
Lovely day again but very frosty to start with. DD at work (she's a florist, preparation for Valentine's) and DH gone out to meet a friend. I'm here cleaning and cooking dinner.
One load of washing out, this weather makes me want to wash lots of things but that would be a waste of water and I'm up to date with the washing anyway!
Roast dinner roasting.
Vacuumed right through downstairs, cats have been wrestling again.
We've got cake in the larder so I don't need to make that;)
I'm struggling with a crossword in between cooking/cleaning/reading on here.0 -
morning all - *o what a beautiful morrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnning* (she's sings very out of tune) - I do like the sun
tracy - it's never too late to express condolence, especially if you've only just heard - a pretty card with a few supportive thoughts would be lovely, or a short letter
hex - gardening absolutely DOES count as a HHE - it's really high up on the cal burning activity list is digging as well as making your garden look smashing
pigpen - no pub on a fri? what, did I blink and there's a new world order? Hope your migraine has gone - your getting an awful lot of those lately - are you OK? Good point as well about the jars - now I've made room in the garage think i'll drag em out of the recycling and stash
rather you than me with the nosebleeds to handle lil_me - I've got a severe blood phobia (even had CBT to try and get rid of it) so I'd be on the deck every 5 mins - that's one of the main reasons I don't have kids (that and the fact I'm too scared to attend the conception)
Destiny - :hello: - once you've been on the Fly for a couple of weeks there's much less big stuff to tackle as it gradually gets attended to and congrats about forthcoming lil un
Ouch Dusty *kisses finger better and puts on magic cream*
Pink Fairy - grind that headache down girl - have every sympathy with you about the dust thing - it gets where vaseline couldn't, doesn't it? Congrats on your OH's honour - ooooh, you might need a posh hat, how exciting! And re your New Best Friend - you could always try texting her first thing with a list of everything that you've got to do and asking for HER help (bet she'd cry off then, the lazy mare)
Bonsibabe - how's your poorly finger today? - you could be finger twins with Dusty
Kimberley - (((hugs))) and virtual hot lemon and tissues winging their way towards you
soappie - have you stopped quivering yet?
moggins - so now you'll be snug as a mog in a rugand re: DB you could always tie him to the vacuum and make him help cheeky beggar
boddy - just what you needed before hitting the sack - lubberley
oooh Kaz that needle thing made my knees buzz eeeurrgh
hi samphire :hello: glad your first week went well
Hope I haven't missed anyone
Just a quick mooch round now then I've got to get ready for work - enjoy your Sunday Flyladies xI'd rather be watching CSI!0 -

Yes, I'm fine now thanks. Finished off the Work work. Put some more stuff on ebay. Am now contemplating the ironing. It's either that or the front room. Not much of a choice really!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Afternoon everyone
Not been around for few days, due to DD1 scarlettina (sp?) and the fact that she got really moody with it. Completly understandable but hard work all the same. Have been doing damage limitation rather than flying so house not too bad but some areas need a deep down clean, am just hoping for some dry weather next week.
Currently sat at work doing application form for job. Having read the job description I really, really fancy this one. I so long to feel like a person again rather than just a "mummy". Dont get me wrong I love being a mum but I guess I worked for 15 years before having the littles and miss that side of things, difficult to explain.
Embb - Thanks for thinking of us. Funeral will be Tuesday, not sure how littles will cope but think it is important for them to say goodbye.
Likklegibbon - Fantastic news about your dad, am sure he will make a much speedier recovery now he is back in his own surroundings.
Tracyg - Hope DH is behaving himself. Have to say we waited until we had been married over 8 years before trying for a family and it is much harder than I think either of us ever imagined. DH isnt as hands on as I always imagined him to be, but then I am not the patient, perfect mother I wanted to be either. At least you are talking so sending you hugs.
Moggins - Great to see you back and doing so well. You sound busy, busy busy (Do I really wanna go back to full-time work:eek: ).
Feeling tired today. The night time wakings started at midnight with DD2, then her again at 12.30. DD1 came in at 2am so gave her calpol, she started whinging at 2.30 so went back in to try and settle her. Started whinging she couldnt go to sleep again at 2.45 so DH went in and shouted at her and slammed the door shut  . DD2 then woke up and moaned 'cos the door was shut so got them both back into bed. Got out of bed again at 3.15 'cos DD1 was still whinging (not about anything I might add) so took her in lounge for 15 mins trying to work out what was wrong - dont think she knew. Put her back to bed at 3.30, checked on her at 4am still awake. Think I got back to sleep about 4.30 and DD2 came in ready to start the day at 6.30am. Oh! and we have MIL, FIL, SIL coming over today so when i get home from work I have a roast to do. Actually how the fluff do I think I could work full time:rotfl: .
Sorry for ramble quick hello has turned into mammouth post. But on a positive note. I have got a dress for the ball and it cost a pricely £14.50 including postage from ebay. Absolutely mint condition and full length wine coloured - fab and I love it. Got some magic knickers (that was a fun 10 mins putting them on - has anyone sent a tape into youve been framed of someone putting them on:rotfl: ). I also go a fab coat on-line from Wallis was £85 reduced to £40 plus 5% cashback thanks to quidco:money: .
Right just need to write the bit about how fab I am at everything for this application and its done. Coffee first me thinks:D0 -
Just caught up with all the posts - didn't come on yesterday, as I woke up with a really sore throat, that then became a streaming cold, and I was far too busy feeling sorry for myself!
I did pop downtown with DD (what is it with 15yr olds and shopping??), who is actually a very savvy shopper. Giving her a clothings allowance monthly has worked a treat. She thinks carefully about what she wants and shops around really well.I bought a red pen, now I'm back to being a teacher (!) although apparently now green is the thing to use, so the kids are not traumatised by corrections. Tough. I also bought the new Sophie Kinsella book, which we found in Tesco's . I spent the rest of the day curled up on the sofa reading! DD is doing the same today.
If the cold eases up this afternoon I'm going to totter around the garden doing something strenuous like counting snowdrops, and making a list of all the new plants I need. I may even sow some sweetpeas.
I did do some flying yesterday morning, vacuuming the whole house, and also all the washing mountain - now reduced to a small hillock.
jilld - April 06 I had to go to Thailand at very short notice when DS1 fell seriously ill on a trip. I was away for a month, leaving OH to cope with everything at home. My other two children told me that he said more than once " I never knew Mummy did so much..." He didn't clean the bathroom once while I was away though! It was the first thing I did the day after I came back when I was awake at silly o'clock with jetlag! So, you could try taking yourself off for a day or two...I have always pointed out very forcibly that just because I didn't get money for what I did, didn't mean that I wasn't making a valuable contribution to the household. Or the other tactic is to check out the local rates for cleaners, childminders, cooks, nurses, washing services etc, and work out just how much it would cost to replace you.
Hugs to all in need of one!! Must go cook the rest of lunch!
ps Shell - nice to see you back - I did ask earlier in the week if you were okay. Hugs for this week.
pps How many posts do I need to get another star? I want to be a serious money saving fan!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
WEEKEND Frolics
For those who have extra weekend time and can't function without tasks... lol If you don't have time or want to spend time with your family that is brilliant.. go for it. It is a list of 10 tasks to do over the weekend if you get chance.. no pressure at all.. just ideas and reminders and springy preparations!
This is also a chance to get hubby's and children involved in the flying- Extra 30 minutes ironing.. school uniforms? work clothes?
- [STRIKE]Change any bedding you didn't get chance to do over the week![/STRIKE]
- Meal plan for the next week and make a shopping list... based on what you found in the freezer and those things that need using from weekly cupboard sweep
- [STRIKE]spend at least an hour with your family... playing, reading or just watching a dvd and having a hug![/STRIKE]
- Work yourself to level 3 in your messiest room!! (I'm going to regret this one!!)
- Bake a cake for after dinner.. it only takes 5 minutes.. come on!!
- Touch up the paintwork in one room!!!
- Fill a binbag of things to get rid of.. charity/bin etc
- [STRIKE]15 minutes hotspots clearing[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Clear out your handbag and coat pockets and update your finances.. if needed of course![/STRIKE]
Polly I am both jealous and not envious of your daughter! I loved being a Florist and I miss it, but Valentines and Christmas were the most painful! Valentines with thorns that usually ended up right under your nail owch and Christmas making holly wreaths, my hands got covered in so many scratches I used to plunge them into ice cold water to make them numb before I had a shower. She will need plenty of hot food, it's cold work.
Not got much to do today, may tackle kids room again, I only shoved the toys under the beds yesterday. And I have some ironing to do, oh and must go to asda for OH's ciggies. My mum and dad havben't texted me today... they usually do on a sunday...

Oh moggins how insensitive of him, what an awful thing to say, sure you'll show him what can be achieved in no time however without getting too stressed of course. I suppose at least he loves you mess or not, which must be a good thing.
Samphire however mad this may sound, giving them more to drink when potty training helps. It means they know when they know when they need to go better and it 'waters down' the urine making it less smelly to clean up accidents. With the clean up, killing the bacteria is the key to removing the smell, bicarb I find works well, my friend swears by dettol spray. 'Ooops urine remover' is mean't to work well, something I've looked into since Mudbath suggested it (said about something with enzymes to break down the pee) which breaks down the proteins in it to remove the stain and odour I could only find that one on here http://www.robharvey.com/urine-remover.htm but was told other pet stores sell similar ones which are suitable for any pee not just dogs and cats . Make sure you don't overwet the carpets or it'll just soak straight through, remove as much water as possible with towels etc. I relied on my vax which I invested on when DS1 was training, then got so fed up of it I got laminate flooring for DS2!
Shell, big hugs for DD and you of course, my sister had that when she was little and it was horrible. Will be thinking of you all on Tuesday. Good luck with the application.
Hugs to all others who want/need one. Well all quiet so far, my friend seems to have forgot he'd said he would call today (or me dropping him from a great height did the trick) sad really in a way as miss him as a friend. Anyway, it's gettng brighter here, it was sunny earlier but VERY foggy, couldn't see the end of the street (short street aswell) I'm thinking of taking the boys to the park but don't know if we should go to the small one behind the house or drive down to the bigger one (only couple of miles away) then they can feed the ducks etc there....think I will see what they want to do.I'll quickly vacuum before we go, did the kitchen, bathroom, laundry and DW all this morning. One day I might be more organised...........
