  • Caught up with you all a bit last night, but was working till 10:30 and then had a bath and went to bed. Yet another week is flying by far to quickly.

serena glad you had a good day. That will boost your confidence a bit and may provide you with new contacts. Something might come up then for you properly.

jill sorry - i forgot to answer you last time you asked about the stamps - i collect the royal mail stamp issues for charlie - not all of them just the ones that appeal to us - and Dh loves james bond, and they released a set of stamps commemorating the 40th anniversary showing all the book covers. It's just our way of getting him a bit of something different for him to have when he is older.

nicki nice to see you - big news that about UNI. Hope you find the cash to do what you want.

anyway, quick list check while charlie is troughing. Another day done, and some things can be crossed out.

Reading though the posts is the longest I've managed to sit down today! Working a bit offlist today...

I have cleared the side path and swept the patio, so that the delivery people wouldn't get too grubby walking round; OH and DS1 took out the old sofas, chair and footstool, all being collected tomorrow or next week; vacuumed downstairs, and whisked away some of the junk in the livingroom, except for the things which are temporarily here while the bedroom is done; admired my new sofas, which are higher than I remember them in the showroom, so my feet don't quite touch the floor - makes me feel about three...Took one car load or rubbish to the tip, delivered DS1 to school, did two loads of washing, and did the weekly shopping before picking them all up again - phew!

No end of phone calls as well, as the sofas arrived minus the armcaps and the scatter cushions, and also I have been booked for work tomorrow (took the call in the queue in S'bury's while loading stuff onto the conveyor!).
If it goes well, I can have a regular Wednesday all next half term, which would be a nice bit of money!

skintscotslass - so sorry to hear your news, hugs to you and your cousin
lil_me - that is lovely news! I know just how you feel.
maralum - hugs, hope the rest of the week goes more smoothly
michelle - thank you for your wishes, yes, I do feel more confident already, and looking forward to tomorrow. In fact yesterday another supply told me of a maternity leave coming up, but it is in a school agood 45 minutes drive away, and a girls' grammar - I prefer mixed schools!
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be
  • That HHC turned into an hour and a bit but:-

    Vacuumed downstairs
    Vacuumed sofas
    Dusted both living rooms
    Cleaned TVs
Cleaned all light switches and doorhandles
    Cleaned all mirrors
Cleaned front door inside and out
    Wiped out fridge
    Tidied under the sink

    need to still:-
empty all the bins now and take out the bin bag but will do that just before bed when they're full
email Tensator rep to schedule maintenance visit
text builder to ask for quote to point the chimney
    ring alarm man - again
    I'd rather be watching CSI!

Gah!! Haven't done todays yet!! Hold your horses!!

Just got up (well an hour ago), had brekkie & read thru the posts.
    Gunna get started now.

Oooh random (and slightly weird) question...when walking up on the moors this morning Shadow found a rams skeleton, I bought the skull & horns home (they have been picked clean so no flesh/slimy bits etc) I thought it would look quite good up on the wall.
I found a horse skeleton last time I went on the moors but alas no skull.
Now my question...when they say to bleach the bones, does that just mean to put it in bleach?

Right...I'm off to get the list & make a start.

OK - I got mixed up!! I started doing the bedroom when it should have been the living room. Feel the need to be doing something, so it may as well be something productive. I also started to catch up with some tv programmes that I've had recorded for ages so I watched the Christmas episode of Doctor Who. This was probably a mistake, I wasnt expecting it to be so sad, so was howling again. Think I'll make some lentil soup and chocolate brownies to take round to my cousin. Does that sound OK or do you think something more substantial? Thank you again for your kind words and hugs xx

For some reason it seems very easy and better for me to do these two rooms on the same day, must be cos my bedroom is right next to the living room!
