Ok everyone - you will need to sit down for this one as you will not believe it.

*Possibly dreaming - still not sure* :A
I got home late today, OH been home since 2pm and guess what - he has cleaned the WHOLE house top to bottom. And i don't just mean tidy up - he has done DW twice, hoovered and cleared hotspots in EVERY room, cleaned the oven, the bathroom, put stuff in the loft & garage, he has even put his clothes away - in the correct drawers!!!! I am in such disbelief, I may have to print off this thread to remind myself just how good he CAN be, when he isn't making an effort. So pleased I can relax, for once!
*Wakes up after a..... nightmare? dream?*

Sorry pigpen but I am going to have to step out of Levels 1 & 2 of your reign of terror - I have been saved by the OH!!! I will still make an effort with Level 3 & some extras, though, if you'll still have me...

My afternoon has been fabby - well deserved after a rubbish start to the week. I had my pay review and got more than I was hoping for so, we have decided to open a Savings Account (first time ever) and put it all towards the wedding.:j

And, I'm going to invest in some Stardrops. Very excited after reading the post that someone put up - THANKS (Sorry can't remember who it was...!)

Tia - re: the squirt of stardrops in your WM, is it undiluted/diluted and do you just put it in the normal washing tablet drawer thingy? (excuse the technical talk.....!)

Have a good night everyone!! Thank you all for lending an ear (or eye, I guess) - this thread is very theraputic and everyone is so supportive! I couldn't think of a better way to pick myself up! :D

I'm starting to worry about the number of people who know what to do with bones on this thread! No-one is getting my address, lol. Then again, at least we're not discussing disposing of bones! DS was most impressed when a friend of my dad gave him a sheeps skull. He now calls this man Mr Bones and is always very excited when he sees him. He's got a lovely collection of vertebrae, teetch and little skulls. Delightful boy!

I'm thinking of going to bed early and reading as there's nothing on the box. I can't do any more flying as i'm all flyed out!

Walnut and cranbury sound lovely - remember i'm your bestest friend ever!

I went down to an open day at the Agricultural college and they were bleaching bones. I'm nosey and take stuff in like that.

They also had cows heads (with flesh) in big vats of cold water and biological washing powder to get the flesh off the skulls so they could use them as teaching aids. Not just for vet nursing, they had farming and all sorts going on. And they had a rubber sheep so you could shove your arm into it and have a go at 'lambing'.

I think they just showed us all the gross stuff so we would decide not to bother....

But it turned out to be too much for me to take on, I would have to find a job as a trainee nursing assistant (that paid a lot less than I was getting at that point) and it was one week at college every 4-6 weeks, the college being an hours drive away, and it didn't work out.

Plus, you can make wands out of bones and I read about that in a book....

And my friend keep sheep, she names all the lambs then tells you 'thats toffee, were eating him', as this lovely caramel coloured lamb is nuzzling you...

Raphael, you don't have to laquer them, but it is worth it. it seals the bone and stops it drying out and getting dirty etc. You could probably use hair spray as a quick fix (you can use it on dried flowers)

Ashbart, I just squirt some stardrops straight from the bottle into the drawer. Does go quite foamy though, but anything really grotty it seems to clean it up. Told my mate about it and it got rid of ball point pen from sheets that had been there ages. I always use it for sicky/peey/smelly sheets.

Raphael, second what Tia says, don't use household bleach. I only know how to get it to the bare bone stage (lidded bucket and let the flies do the rest) I'll ask the guy at work tomorrow before you buy any Hydrogen peroxide. (work in a large animal post mortem place by the way and sometimes get 'exotics'. Haven't really got hitch hikers under my floorboards)

Thanks, I'm not about to rush out now to a salon :rotfl:Prob get round to it next week (maybe). I will await further instructions :p
