I once ordered a bottle of lemon juice to make a lemon cake with, and it was substituted for lemon toilet cleaner

I just made a plain sponge though, not a toilet cleaner cake :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -

It must be a pretty boring job, picking other people's shopping. They probably get bored and substitute stuff for a laugh
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
If I were working at 6am, the last thing on my mind would be having a laugh.
Perhaps the pickers are half asleep?"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

My asda is great for substitutes i always get the more expensive option if what i want is unavailable and they price match it so you never pay more than your original option.
Tesco on the other hand :rotfl: couldn't find a substitute for toilet roll

Substitutions drive me nuts - one driver dumped all my stuff in the middle of the road (yes, the actual road where actual cars drive) and fled. The substitutions added around £30 to the bill as well.
With Tesco I found that stating 'no substitutes', pleading, begging and ringing would have no effect whatsoever.
I now get my home deliveries from Sainsbury who are lovely.Always another chapter0 -
Absolutely!Oh and in the spirit of venting do you think i should ask for loads of compensation
!
Only one problem... they're just going to say, "Sorry, we can't pay compensation... we haven't got a bean. :rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry, but I just had to.

If you are not paying for it, you're not the customer; you're the product being sold.0 -

Asda is good for not charging the extra for substitutions where as Tesco do charge and it can add up.
When I queried the Wotsits for Persil, customer services said the system recognised they had no stock and picked a replacement so the picker would have just gone off the computer generated list - not sure if she was just saying that though to get the picker off the hook.0 -
My best substituions were a turnip in place of a bag of salad, ribena replaced with cherry brandy and a 6kg frozen turkey in place of a bag of oven chips!!!!
Didn't charge me extra for the turkey, even though it cost £16 more than the chips!Nobody I'd rather be
