Talk Talk owns AOL UK, you might have been best to ring up AOL and threaten to cancel, they usually have some very good deals if they think you are leaving.

    Hi jhp

I agree with the sentiment, but those are the words on their site.

As per Celtic Yob above, he will hopefully have no problem transferring from Tesco to talktalk "as they use the same BT line".

This just sounds like a case of them saying it has to be a BT line, when just about all lines are "BT" in the context of having been installed on the "BT" network. As I understand it, other providers "pay" BT (wholesale) for the line and then bill their customers.

I have never been confused (Al Murray)

Have you ever signed up Tesco, PO, Homecall ,Etc Etc Line Rental Customers to T-Plus.Did they go through ok?

Who you pay line rental to is irrelevant to whether it's a BT line or not - if it's plugged into BT's equipment at the exchange it's a BT line.
Some ISPs now quote that you must have a standard non-cable line now instead of BT line to save confusion.

I have done a PO and a talktalk with no problems as long as HQ know who the current provider is. :D

  • Well, jhp.
I don't know yet, if you are right or not. If what you state is right what do you estimate I will be paying, above what talk talk said.
As I said earlier in the thread, I will update it.

As I will be with the same organisation do I need a MAC?

    Ralph.
  • A few things I have found out.
Tesco do use BT, reading the small print, it says from time to time BT may interupt your line, we have no control over this, as the line belongs to BT.
I have received a letter off talk talk , and guess what they have put me on the wrong tarrif I signed for.

    Ralph.
