So pleased to hear you really enjoyed 'your day' Kelly. It sounds as though you were really spoiled - and why not! The perfect day with great gifts.
Now best wishes for a DFW week, year and life!

Have a very happy birthday!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Hi everyone, feel on a total downer today and have had a bit of a cry. Tried to explain our circumstances to the council regarding the removal of rubbish from our house, which the removal company went and flytipped. They say there is nothing they can do, unfortunately they know this company are cowboys (and yet they allow them to trade?) but the fact remains that sam did not obtain correct paperwork on the collection of the rubbish and that is the exact reason for the £180 charge. I explained that we had no idea such a rule/law existed, and that we were not aware not having documents following rubbish removal was an offence.
The council guy said I should write him a witness statement, so he can approach the enviroment agency regarding a&b removals, but that ultimately we still have to pay £50 for the rubbish which was flytipped to be removed and £180 for not having any documentation.
Please, no-one ever make the same mistake we did.
Moneywise, very cheap day, spent £1.90. (but got £1 back that someone owed me, so only 0.90 spent!) Done piggy clicks, checked online banking, made lunch box for tomorrow at work. going to put a kids video and a few books on ebay, see if they sell.

Cheer up Kelly and once the money's paid try to put it behind you and press on with 'living'. Though, why can't the Council speak to the cowboy chaps? If they're known for doing such things then surely someone in authority should be able to stop it - and quick!
Good luck with the lunch boxes Kelly, keep it up daily and you'll be doing fine and will have paid the £180 by the year's end!! Please don't let that event mar things, you've learned from it so put it behind you as soon as you can. All these things are said to be sent for a purpose ??? Hope it is and they're STOPPED!!!
Chin up and start looking forward again. Good luck with ebay.

Just in from work, another bit of overtime to add to the list! Been another busy day in the world of repossession sales, desperatly trying to keep our clients happy in a market where we are struggling to obtain prices that recover their losses. Coming up to the reporting time of the month aswell, my most dreaded time.
Well, did as the council asked and supplied a witness statement. Shall see now if it does any good. I have accepted now that we will have to pay the fine, and just be thankful that at least they are not adding interest on to it. Something, I suppose.
Sams cooking tea tonight using only things we already had in the freezer/cupboard.
They boys have been out today to see the grounded boat at Cleveleys - they say it was massive and that they even climbed all the way up it - I think they're telling me porkies!!DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

:jAmazing news!!! The council have decided to rescind the charge based on the witness statement I have provided and support and assistance I have offered to their investigation in order to get these contractors stopped!!:T
I have totally learnt my lesson, and am so grateful that the council have seen that we are genuine and that we were just naive. After that shock we'll be so careful from now on.
Other than that, really good DFW day. Got my vouchers from tesco for my clubcard points - £13.50! Woo Hoo! Also cut out lots of coupons from a magazine we got free with the newspaper. found some money in the bedroom and have added to my penny jar, friend asked me to get her a bottle of water at lunch that she gave me the money for, and told me to keep the change. Awesome!!:DDFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

So, all in all a GREAT day Kelly! I'm thrilled to bits about the fine and if nothing else, then at least it'll make you more cautious of folk in future - the 'all these things are sent for a purpose' part that I spoke about last week.
Wonderful news!
