Well done on the 4 hours OT! So, when you have some free 'home time' how about preparing some meals which can be cooked and then put in the freezer for such times when working late to save on the Chinese meals. How's about a Chinese for a treat once a month perhaps, something to look forward to now and again. I know it's not easy when you work, have little ones who also need you and your time, your hubby too.:D ........and all the time you're trying to get your finances in order, but then life never was meant to be easy..... WAS it!!!! Never mind Kelly, you've started on your way to a great life ahead!

was so busy at work that I didn't leave until 9.30 pm (supposed to leave at 5.30).The good point - 4 hrs overtime. The bad point - hadn't eaten so bought a chinese on the way home as was a bit late to cook for myself and hubby.
I know about being busy sometimes during the week and not able to cook (but if your husband's at home, why isn't he making the dinner? OH and I both do it, being a man doesn't mean he can't prepare some food).
Often at weekends, I make a casserole - chicken, quorn, something like that. Once you've got going chopping onions / carrots etc, it doesn't take much longer to do more. I then make a huge quantity of casserole, and we eat some and freeze the rest. Then on days OH and I are both busy, we can just defrost something.
Last weekend I made a chicken casserole - which all of us like. It has chicken, onions, carrots, garlic, pearl barley, red lentils, corgettes, and stock in it, and is rather nice if I say so myself!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Good idea, could I be really cheeky and ask you for a recipie? I have a huge freezer and would be able to make great use of this - might even get me eating a bit healthier!
Hubby does do the cooking when needed, he usually works later than me though, so I generally start it before he gets in.
Well, nsd so far, but my uncle has asked if I can help him out with money for a couple of weeks, so am giving him a loan. He will def. pay it back, so at least if he owes me it, it will stop me spending it as it won't be in my bank!!
(to be honest, I didn't know how to say no, he was really helpful when it came to sorting things out with my dad's funeral and in a silly way I feel en-debted to him. Also, my Dad used to help him out quite a bit, and I suppose I feel a bit sorry for him. )DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

I'll work it out - I'm more in the chuck-it-in-that-looks-about-right school of cooking, so I'll work out quantities etc!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Phew! what a day, am worn out! been really busy at work, fingers are aching from all the typing. Just got in, another late night, but the worst of the stuff is dealt with now, so just need to get caught up with work!
Moneywise, I've been very good today - only thing I bought was a 60p can of Diet Coke.
Just popping in briefly tonight - going to make myself something to eat - had nothing since lunch!!DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

Hope you managed to grab some grub - all this overtime will make a nice dent in a debt!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Well done Kelly! I'm sticking to my original thoughts about you...a young lass determined on getting herself and her family a good life!:T Just one thing - don't go too long between meals as you won't function so well. No more nagging!:p

Hi- re childcare vouchers. When I looked at your SOA, I'm pretty sure you must be getting help with childcare bills via tax credits, in which case you need to be careful about using childcare vouchers instead. You can look at this website www.entitledto.co.uk. Put your details in with and without childcare costs and if they are different then you will be getting a childcare element of tax credits. I also notice your youngest is 4. When does he go to full-time school?0
