does anyone know what following tel no.s are/have had similar missed calls?

Just today had loads of missed calls with these two numbers - ring two times then hang up. I am reluctant to ring them back incase its a dialling scam

More 'dodgy' numbers to add to this list are:
    01324609000
    01383559742
    01698399000

I had numerous missed calls from these within 24 hours and
2 blank text messages from 07706590028

My sim card is an Orange Pay as You Go that I rarely use that has been bombarded by these numbers.

Definitely scammers or dodgy marketing company in my opinion

Alternatively, it could be a customer services/sales team.
Some have telephone systems which dial multiple numbers, and when one answers they hang up all the others.

The first number is Falkirk. The others have been explained. They are just ordinary geograpgical numbers. If you call them you will be charged the normal national rate. They are more than likely t be sales calls of one type or another.

  • Hi,

I had a missed call from 01698399000 today.

Saw that others had this also. Anyhow, they did call me back. Turns out it was Kwikfit call centre trying to quote me on my home insurance which is due for renewal.

Hope this helps anyone that is interested.

    Cheers

I just had a two-ring missed call from this number. The home insurance thing rings true as I was looking at renewing my insurance online yesterday.
Terribly automated and potentially worrying way to deal with prospective customers though; if i had been considering Kwikfit (I wasn't), I'd probably give them a miss now.

    Thanks for this :)

In the job I do we use an automated dialing system to contact customers. If they try to return the call using the number that made the call they cannot do it as it is an outbound number only and they have to change the last 2 digits to get back in contact.
It could be that they are legitimate companies, nothing dodgy but you will not be able to use that number. Personally I think there should be some way of allowing the recipient of the missed call to know who was calling or at least a return call contact number.
