Next project is the dining table. I got it from someone on Freecycle and the varnish on the tabletop is coming off, so I'll be sanding the top down and staining and waxing it. It has a pedestal leg and I'm thinking of painting that bit. (Still got an unopened tin of the paint I bought for the dresser so will use that.)0 -
I want to shabby chic my kitchen. I have lemon yellow cabinet doors with beech effect carcasses. I did the walls pale yellow as couldn;t decide what to paint to get rid of the horrid green walls but want a change. Won't be changing the tiles which are black with dark grey worktop. Actually, am as I type, now considering changing the tiles to a mixture of different colours...............
Do you think that powder blue would be a nice combination with the yellow? There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0 -

I'm looking forward to seeing this, I'm on the lookout for another dining table and will probably end up painting a cheap one I can pick up as I don't want to spend much:D.0 -
Ooh it's lovely to see this thread up and running again. I always found it so inspirational even though I am a real lurker:o I've been working my way my house very gradually fettling thoroughly, mending all sorts, rearranging bits and freecycling others and am feeling very fired up and full of ideas [only very little ideas I hasten to add]
I've been loving the following blogs by Attic 24. Posy and Nostalgia at the Stone House. The photos are stunning!

Keep an eye out on Freecycle. My local groups often have dining tables.0 -
I love both of those, so wish I could crochet but at the same time have no inclination to learn lol. I would love a granny squares blanket!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

How many of you watched Kirstie last night? I still feel cheated by the programme......she gets her experts to do most of it for her. So much for homemade. I'm afraid I am still only doing small scale projects at the moment such as making bags, fabric pots and cushions. I have two chairs to cover soon but am still unsure exactly which fabric to use.We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0
