  • I don't have labels on my jars because I can see what's in them, but if they were all crowded together on a low shelf, I would use a whiteboard marker on the lid as they are washable.

By the way, I like Lakeland's jam labels as well, because they wash off easily.

I'm going to pick up a dresser tomorrow that I won on ebay for £10.50. I'm off to Homebase tonight to have a look at paint and new handles for it. Can't decide yet whether to paint it off white/cream, or a sage green.
Can't wait! I've been wanting a dresser for years. :)

I'll post before and after pics.

Well, I've spent the last 3 days sanding, painting and waxing. I've still got to get handles as it was missing some and a couple of the others were broken. I've also got to hang one of the doors back on, but here are pics as promised. :)

It's been hard work but I'm thrilled with the result! :T

I've picked up a cast iron fireplace to strip and put in my bedroom. Then will NEED a lovely greenish blue paint for the walls and pretty bedding. Just don't want it to look "old ladyish". I love shabby chic and I think it is all in the choosing of the right items. My bedding at the moment is plain lilac or cream with cream curtains and awful wallpaper borders"

How have you marked the contents of the jars on the front? Only thing I can think of is some pretty jam jar labels.
What about using some card lables, decorated as you choose & tied to the nech of the jars with string or gardners twine?
