By the way if anyone is near Ipswich the Aldi on the east side of Ipswich on Felixstowe Rd had lots of the patchwork quilts in . They had blue ones, pink ones, and multi colour ones
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Take whatever inspiration you like. :D And thanks. :A Oh, and I found you The Victorian Housewife's friend. ;)

Bibbly, your dresser looks lovely, as does your cabinet Wizz.

And I love that little cupboard Daisy.

Thanks Haribo, was inspired by you I think!
  • We nipped into Wigan today (we live so close, but have never been) and got a few bits.
Got a teeeny tiny little set of drawers that will be handy for loose change etc etc, it just needs sanding and painting up a bit.
Oh and I nipped into Primark to get some cheapo candles for the bathroom and came out with a lovely red polka dot fleecy throw/blanket for the bargain price of £4 and a pink polka dot shower curtain for the same price. I love the 1950's retro side of the shabby chic look.
I am currently on ebay looking for old 50's magazines.

I live near there. Did you get your drawers from the charity shop? Hospice seem to have some nice things in at the moment but I've no room:rolleyes:

    Hello again ...

Well I have been away for a few days at my Mum's in Bognor Regis - it is so beautiful there I never want to come home!

Anyway, I have more or less finished my latest project ... here are the before and after pics ... it's not totally done as there is some touching up to do, but more or less. I have had a disaster though, but will post about that tomorrow as too tired now and need to go to bed!!!

    BEFORE :

and AFTER (painted in Farrow and Ball something or other, can't remember!!)

Bibbly, it looks gorgeous & I love the look of the pink plates & the white dresser together, you have done a great job! :T

I found some lovely 1950's duck egg blue pyrex plates at the weekend which I thought you might like to see, I think they will look nice in my dresser when I eventually get one!
