    Sorry I meant physically connected or installed rather than connected in the way it was disconnected which was done in a similar way to changing mobile providers. Nobody came out to disconnect me from BT provision, so I gather nobody needs to actually reconnect me. It's simply a switch providers. Is that right? The link was all about installation. I have a phone line installed; it's just who has charge of it thats up for question.

    You haven't said which company you are using for telephony or broadband come to that, if its an LLU service then there will be physical work involved in changing you over at the exchange. A tie pair shift if I recall correctly.

    Whilst the line may not appear to be disconnected at your end,it could be disconnected on route to exchange,or disconnected or rerouted at exchange.So its possible a connection charge could be applied. Best way to find out ask BT.
