I'm not sure. It's somebody that gets shipments of discontinued yarn from Iceland so can't say what exactly is in there. He is offering 100 balls for £53 including postage but not sure if I should go for it.
- Where will you put it?
2. Will you definitely be happy to knit different things to use it, or be able to pass it on to a good home?
I can see that the price is hard to resist, mind you. I actually BOUGHT some wool (actually cotton) to knit a chemo hat for someone and was shocked by the price!
that's what happens when you inherit your mother's stash ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 - Where will you put it?

I think you have to ask yourself two questions:
- Where will you put it?
2. Will you definitely be happy to knit different things to use it, or be able to pass it on to a good home?

The biggest thing will be where will I put it as I only live in a two bed flat but with a seven year old and a newborn great niece I'm sure I'll find lots to knit with it
My biggest fear is that it might be a scam. I've tried looking into it but can't find any reviews from this guy although he does seem to advertise in a couple of facebook knitting groupsDid owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

If he’s not someone you know personally - or well known to friends/family - I’d be worried too. Have you tried Googling him?
Go with your gut and ignore the yarn-lust.

My thoughts are, if you could buy a small amount it might be a bit of fun but no to buying a big load like this.I’m sure we all like a change with the kind of things we are knitting and to be stuck with so much of the same wool would be a pain, plus the storage space in your home.So yes, as PipneyJane says ‘go with your gut’ and as my Mother would have said when not sure about things, ‘keep your money in your pocket’0

Thanks both. I think what I was looking for was someone to say don't be so stupid, you don't need 100 balls of wool. Use up what you've already got first :rotfl:Did owe £9,951.96

Glad you’re sorted out what to do about the wool, lynseydee, the other thing that comes to mind is that hopefully we are now going into warmer weather and you will not want to be knitting with or wearing clothing made with Lopi yarn.
I’m still on the “chicken run” with my knitted chicks for Easter, very nearly finished now and will be soooo glad to put the pattern away for another year! Going to now spend time finishing off some “wips” that I have hanging around, only small things and then I can start on some fresh items.0 -
Hi Fellow Knitters
I have just discovered this thread and spent the last few hours catching up. I am a returner to knitting after many years and I am currently knitting squares for a paw print blanket for dog rescue. I have two square to go and then I just have to sew up.
Brought 2 £1 balls from Wilko to start the next blanket. My aim is to complete ten before sending them to the charity.

And at least now I have something to search for, to make a bit more sense of it. Which it did, having spread it all out in front of us, but no-one had ever seen anything quite like it.
Anyway, I have decided to knit the front bands before I join the rest of it up, and so far it's going OK. The band is knitted on a smaller needle than the main sweater, so I'm hoping it won't pucker up. I'm doing the button band first as I think it will have to have more rows than the buttonhole side suggests. I'm marking every 10 rows so I can work out how many buttonholes I actually NEED and where to put them. If if followed the pattern rigidly I'm sure I'd end up with them uneven at top or bottom. :rotfl:
Have still not managed to spread it all out on the bed and pin it together, so the neck band is still to do. But ... I have started knitting buttons! :rotfl: which I'm quite pleased with.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Hello and welcome. I've made a few of these for Battersea. They are quick and easy to make and the charity love them.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I have finished the yellow jumper! the second sleeve wasn't such a problem as I had worked out all the issues with the first one - but I forgot to double rib the cuff. I will just have to keep my arms away from each other so noone notices! I also struggled a bit with fitting the raglan sleeves, but got there in the end.
I'm currently knitting some hats for charity and having a go at a corner to corner crochet blanket - so far I have worked out how to increase, but not decrease - I shall leave that until I get to that point0
