    Hi

I had loads of old stuff that i needed to sell on ebay. I wanted to start up a wedding internet based shop, but it all fell through. Mainly due to me not having money!!!! So i have sold lots of that, and other bits and bobs.

Thanks for the tip about that shop, they are offering me more for both phones, so thats good! Even the one thats broken they are offering more for!

    Hi,
Just a thought but as you've split up with your partner who gave you the engagement ring, technically it's his property if you're not going to follow through with the wedding.

However, if he owes you 2500k you could accept that in lieu of some of it.

    Tamara

To be fair he called the wedding of 1 1/2 years ago, way before we even split up. When we eventually split up i tried giving him back the ring and he threw it back at me.

£50 off £2500 isnt a great deal!! So i would happily take it off his bill!! :rotfl:

He hasnt got back to me so i bet thats a no go anyway.

    xx

  • It is possible you might get more for the phones on ebay, however for some reason some of the online phone resale companies offer more for some phones.
  • I agree, take whatever you sell it for off his bill (minus listing fees/paypal charges/or whatever other fees are involved in selling it). You know, if you had a record (receipts??) of what he owed you, you could probably take him to court for the rest.

Yeah i know the last bit, however it went on things like his old debts (one was a £700 payment on my CC for his old bank charges). Could i claim that back as that was made to a collection agency on his behalf from me???

Yeah unfortunately i have no boxes/charges for any of the phones. And one is completly broken! I should get £32 which is probably more than i would get after listing costs etc.

    Hi,

I am no expert so I honestly am not sure. If you have proof that it was you who paid it (like a credit card statement or similar listing the payment) or other proof like that, and the bank fees were only listed in his name, then it's possible.

Hmmmm that might be something to think about.

That is the main "debt" he owes me. The rest was stuff like bills, rent etc. that I have no real proof of.

I might mention that to him (if i can find the statement with it on!)

  • Just to clarify..
I changed my last post there but not majorly. I am not really knowledgeable enough about UK law to give legal advice (I'm also not in the UK), but if you have proof that you paid his bank fees then it may be grounds to get it back off him - or to convince him to give it back to you if it is possible to get it back off him.

Wow...you go there lady. Your doing really really well! I'm not in any major debt as such (unless you count the 20K student loans....oophs!).

But we have a house we've gutted and are doing up....when money allows. Currently living upstairs in a bed sit style! Not v nice.

Anyway, I've lost a bit of motivation on ye old money making front, but you've really inspired me again. If only I could find a job for September then I'd be all set.

Mind you filling out an application form (or 2 - I have 2 to do) might help there....so I might crack on with that before I get back on ye old ebay front again! ha ha
