I got given the Babyliss Pro 230 for Christmas and I love them! I have really thick shoulder length hair and they work wonders!

GHD's are way overhyped!! I got some FHI's for Christmas and they are professional ones and are much better than GHD's and you can do flip, twists and curls too as well as straighten and you can use them on damp to dry hair.. and they have this function which actually protects hair.. putting moisture back into it! They are ionic and tourmaline and temperature adjustable up to 232 degrees celcius which most GHD's arent which is very important to be able to do different styles.. on different parts of hair! Also they are so much cheaper even though they are much better! You can get them online, but most people dont know about them even though they are a professional brand and really good. Go to www.fhiheat.com and read the comments and watch the videos.. and they actually show you how to do the styles! Tell your girlfriend! This are the ones to get!! To find them do a search in google.. but shop around.. I've seen them for about £50 before online, but some places charge over £100! Good luck, let us know how you get on! I promise you, your girlfriend won't be disappointed with these..and you save so much money as well! You can get them in pink or black! Mine are pink :)

Another vote for GHD's here. I've got the Mk4's after reading negative reviews of older versions. They heat up in a few seconds, have an auto cut-off after 15 mins of no use. I have very curly, thick hair, and they keep it looking sleek and shiny until the next hairwash without the need to straighten inbetween. I got some GHD products in the leather bag that came with the GHD's as part of a gift set, and have to say that they smell fab, and keep my hair frizz and split end free too. I bought mine online, saving £40, and they are definitely original, not a copy. Having never had my hair straight before, it has been a new lease of life for this old bird now that I have them!

Jolie ones off ebay, they are the same as GHD and as good, they are made by the same people who make ghds with the same spec but without the name and cost me £14.99 including p&p. Ive had ghd before and these are as good if not better, I highly recommend them.
I've been looking at the Jolie ones, they are about £20.
I used to have CHI ones which I much prefer to GHD, i can straighten my hair and not need to do it for a couple of days.

I'm just scared of wasting my money, I wont spend out on GHD's as i dont really like them and can only get the CHI's from Sallys wholesalers but they are still £85!

How did you find out they are made by the same people?

I love my GHD's, have had them for 6 years, never had a problem......have heard some grumbles about the glass type ones though, prone to chipping if they are dropped and then pluck your hair out, not nice......

    Hi ,

Another fan of GHDs ..... well worth the money ....

I've got a set with the " wide plates " and use them 7 days a week ..... without them my hair looks like a "frizz bomb" !!!
