Yep, 1st you start off with a large fortune, then buy NR shares:rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
What is likely to happen to the Northern Rock share price once the winning bidder is announced next week? If the offer is good I can only see the share price going up but I don't know what the worst case scenario is. Could shareholders end up with nothing?

I have NRK shares what do i do with them sell or hold tight? It is not a huge amount. What is the impact if i hold onto them, when this temporary/permanent nationalisation takes hold? Do loose everything? get reduced dividend? or can keep the shares?:T This site is great! Thanks to Martin Lewis & everyone who participates and helps so many people! Without you all, where would we be ??:T

I'm not sure you're going to have a choice. If the company is nationalised, trading will be suspended and you'll be reimbursed whatever the government feels is a fair amount for your shares.
As long as i get the majority back id be happy. IF this is infact a temporary measure until say richard branson comes up with higher bid that is more appealing to the government, then how would it work that say government offer price for shares i have currently but then take over bid happens ive lost out. I think id rather have the option that as long as i can keep the shares then id rather wait until someone buys government out. I dont trust gordon brown so i suspect this word temporary is covering his own bum and that in reality this is a permanent thing, if not then its a case of how long is a peice of string eh!:T This site is great! I agree, :T hopefully will work out similar to how Railtrack shareholdings finished.
ATM as things stand the Government will become the only Shareholder in NR with 110 Billion pounds of assets in NR which is effectively stealing.

All u can do is to let events run its course, What Mr Darling is effectively doing is saying its better for the Treasury to take the NR assets ( 110 Billion) for free than to have to pay for them, which is the same as a Thief saying im gonna steal a TV set because its cheaper than me having to pay for it.
Railtrack Shareholders did go to court and lose, the above article link was how it finished so dont be suprised if the outcome for NR Share Holdings is similar. albeit could be a while before events reach that final stage.
How much did u pay for your NR Shareholding out of interest.? :think:0
