I bought the Easiyo off QVC last night but no sachets, I will nip in Holland and Barrett on Saturday and get 2 to have a trial then follow the recipes on here.

Does anyone here sweeten their mix? I was going to add sweetener but don't know when to add it, when i make the mix up or once the yoghurt is made.

If you're going to buy plain yoghurt mixes, you could get some cheap runny honey and mix it into individual servings, so that you could also put savoury flavourings - herbs, spring onions, seasonings - into the same batch for salad dressing, dips etc, and really experiment with your very first batch :)

Sainsbury's do a running honey in a plastic squeezy bottle, very convenient, I'm sure there are other brands too.

I have never tried flavouring the mixes during the shake-up stage, that doesn't mean you can't do it.

    The maker arrived today YAY!!!!

I have put my first batch in to 'cook' overnight. Following the tips on here i have used UHT Skimmed milk, 3 x tablespoons of dried milk powder and 3 x tablespoons of Yeo Valley organic pro-biotic yoghurt (saving the rest for the next batch. Cant wait to see the results in the morning.

Well, the first batch didn't seem to work :(

Left it for 17 hours and it looked like it had curdled, well baby sick really. So I tipped it, the stuff at the bottom looked ok but it was in the sink by then! LOL

I have a EasiYo pouch mix in it at now so will hopefully have lush yoghurt in the morning. I have 1/2 a pot of yoghurt and the milk so will defo have another go. I don't want to resort to the pouches but if I have to I will.
  • I started off with the sachets but persevered with the skimmed milk mix and it usually turns out well.

I wonder if you're not putting in enough yogurt?

I have a Tefal yogurt-maker,which I believe is also available in the UK.I make yogurts with UHT milk and yogurt-I don't use a starter. The yogurts have always been good, sometimes a bit runny-but that's because the yogurt I used was runny. What surprises me is that I read of others putting in a couple of teaspoons of yogurt as part of the recipe, whereas my booklet tells me to put in a pot of yogurt, which is 140-180mg.So that's what I do.

Just a thought.Hope the next batch is a success!
