    That's my birthday!

I would love to pay off my laptop by then (and my OD!) so I will aim for them if that's ok.

I have a plan, but I need to stick with it!

Well that cheered me up to log on and find that there are people doing the challenge with me-I've just noticed today that I spelt challenge wrong on my first post-my excuse is that I was on nights! That's great that we can cheer each other along. I'm off work today and went through my bills to check exactly how much I owed and found out that I had slightly overestimated my debt-it's £8980.87 rather than the 9069 I had previously thought-not much of a difference but at least it's in the 8s now and I can aim for the 7s. I've got £40 to pay off the capital one debt and another £180 coming on the 20th of February so that will go towards my goal debt-the one to be cleared on 16th June! I feel that if I post here everyday it is a positive step to taking control of my debts and i think I'm going to become a bit obsessed with shrinking my debt signature! i'm going to enter a couple of competitions now i'm online as well-one from a bottle of wine(!) and another from a bottle of water. Have a low spend day everyone! I'm going to buy a cheapie bottle of wine and that's it!

I'm at work today so earning an extra £50 (before tax) today which is good and well worth getting up at 6am on a Saturday. I'm working tomorrow as well. I'm going to buy a bottle of wine from M and S garage as I've got £2 in m and s vouchers and that's it. Then it's a no spend week until I get my haircut on thursday-i'm on nights mon, tue and wed so not going anywhere except work and my bed-how sad! Will ebay my dress tonight-can you see a procrastination theme here with ebay-i really don't like doing it because of the hassle but need to think of my goal here.

Hi Beckseven, your still sounding determined and I agree that bposting on here every day will keep you motivated. It certainly worked for me and still does.

Have a good day at work

  • Thanks GirlRacer-I do feel determined this time-I think writing the total of my debts and having it there to see everytime I post is a great reminder to me to take control of things and really concentrate on paying my debts off. I'm working again today so another £50 in the pot for me! I did crack at work and spent 40p on Maltesers-plan in future is to not bring my purse with me again. i still haven't ebayed my dress-I need someone to bully me into doing it! I will get dh to make me do it!

  • Well I finally ebayed my dress-about time too. I bought it in a weak moment and it cost me £160 in November-I didn't even look at the price and just bought it impulsively. Never never again will I do that-especially with me with all my debts-to be honest though most of my debts are for mundane things like petrol and car tax and Christmas presents-this was before I drew up a budget for how much I could spend each month. Hopefully I'll get a good price for it-I've only wore it once-well worth the money eh? I'm working nights tonight-that's £37.50 towards my debts-we don't get as much for a weekday night. I did the weekly shop today and spent £47.50 which was pretty good going-I've really been managing the shopping budget well this month and managed to get some good bargains at Asda today-lots of the meat and fish was reduced with the use by date being the £13 so stocked up my freezer!

  • I hate putting petrol in with a passion! Flipping stuff is so expensive-never mind I guess i have to drive to work. Put in £19 today which is the last of the money I have allocated for petrol until next Friday-dont' think that is going to last somehow! Hopefully my ebaying will provide money for that. Also have only £28.84 left for food-have enough in fridge and freezer until next Tuesday but am cooking hubbie special meal on thursday and have friend coming round for dinner on Saturday so will have to be creative. On a positive have got debt down from 8980.87 to 8897.28 and should go down even more next week.
