Anyone else had problems redeeming these vouchers? Had one previously and our local Papa Johns came up with the goods. But managed to find another source of Tabasco (with the vouchers still in) but the same Papa Johns said yesterday they are no longer taking part in the scheme. Were they just being funny or has anyone else had the same problem?0

Hi,
Did anyone get a refund for the postage?
I'm currently on hold with Consumer Direct, finding out whether I'm legally entitled to a refund. The answer seems to be yes, but its not clear WHO from!
There's 3 parties involved:
Tobasco
Pefect Pizza / Pappa Johns Franchisor
The branch (owned seperately) Franchisee
Anyone care to have an opinion?

Hi,
Well, I've got some surprising news for you all...
I've spoken to Consumer Direct (who operate on behalf of the DTI), and they've said that the person legally responsible for paying for my postage costs is... wait for it...
TESCO's!!
Apparantely because they are the ones who SOLD me the good (promising a free pizza), they are actually legally responsible. This means that all postage and pizza claims should go to TESCO's, and any small claims court judgements would be against TESCO's, not the pizza company.
Obviously, this only applies if you purchased the tobasco sauce from TESCO's. Basically, it is whichever store you purchased the sauce from.
Something tells me Tesco's aren't going to be THAT keen to send me the 30p for the stamp, plus costs for the envelope, letter and time.
Do you think this can be right... legally I mean?

I might be missing something but didn't the phone call to Consumer Direct cost you more than 30p? I mean I'm all for moneysaving but isn't just getting the vouchers a pretty good result in this case?.0

I didn't get a reply or an extra voucher, but one important point here is I see that the pizza is now for a 12" one (medium)and you may recall the original
Tobasco deal was only for a 10" pizza(small).Maybe an oversight on her behalf but in anycase I feel I have been compensated enough.
Sarah will ask you in her email to put down which shop refused your voucher.
Note that the new voucher will be hand written with that store on it and with your full name and address.Unless you advise her which store you wish to redeem. So if you've travelled to Southern England and you now want to use your new voucher in the North, make sure she knows. Also there will be an expiry date of the 31/12/05. You can use it and only one per visit.
So if you want to buy for someone else then go back in 15minutes as this will now be your second visit.
One more small problem of importance.Apparantently the store is contacted and your name is given to them.I visited my local in Crawley yesterday and the new voucher was refused. The oriental manager states that they want confirmation from Head office before they take this. She even new my name
without even seeing the front of the voucher.Crazy that the call didn't state that they should accept this voucher.I realise that the manager maybe a little obstructive also.An exercise in discretion could be on the cards for someone.I will be sending my findings to Sarah this morning.
UPDATE
Spoke to Carl from Marketing Dept.(01932 568000)who will call them today and contact me.Also got another email from Sarah 01932 574371.She apologised for leaving her voicemail on and seems she will make the calls.Looks like it's going be pizza tonight from Madam Obstructive.Oh no it's a 12".0 -
