At what point do you get asked if you have had any previous pregnancies, abortions, miscarriages etc?
Is it a recurring question throughout your pregnancy or is it just the once?

This is an important and revelent part of your preganacy history early on- your GP will ask when they see you, the M/w will put it in you notes etc.
Am I risght in guessing you have something in the past that you don't want to be reminded of, or have not even told you partner?? If so I'd be homest with the GP at the first visit and say this is the info you need but could you mark it highly confidential and something I do no wish to discuss in the presence of other people, and do not want on my hand held notes etc. IF the letter is read (as it should be) then your wishes should be respected.

You should get asked on the first appointment with the midwife when your filling out your green book with all your information in!
This is when I got asked with both my pregnancys!
And its only the once as if anyone else needs to know they will just look in your green book hope this helps! We Make A Living By What We Get. We Make A LIFE By What We GIVE:money:

One more question. How many visits (in a normal uncomplicated pregnancy) do you have to make to the doctor? I'm sure my boss would be fine about it once I told him about it, but I don't really want to tell him too early iyswim.
If there are 10 visits (ok, I'm probably exagerrating) in the first three months, then he's gonna guess something's up.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

It probably depends on your doctor, and also your risk factors, but when I had mine, it tended to be:
none in the first 3 months (except one to confirm the pregnancy)
then once a month up to the last 2 months
then once a fortnight up to about 38 weeks
then once a week til baby made its appearance.
This was with the midwife, and there were also 2 scans - one at 20 weeks and one at about 32 weeks.
so you should be able to keep it quiet until you are ready to tell.0 -

I'm 7 months now, and have just had my 10th antenatal appointment (midwife or consultant) yesterday (got my book next to me to check!), excluding the 2 scans (12 weeks and 22 weeks) and 2 blood tests (16 weeks and 29 weeks) to date. I am under a consultants care though as I'm classed as high risk (High BMI and have previously had high BP), so I've had a few extra appointments so far (about 5).
I've now got an appointment with my midwife or consultant every 2 weeks until the baby is born, plus an appointment with an anaesthatist, and a growth scan at 34 weeks.
So before I go on Maternity Leave (in 4 weeks - YAY!!:j ), I will have had a total of 18 appointments during working hours. I've been quite lucky in that I've been able to work from home on the days when my appointments have all been arranged. I've also been lucky in that I've not had any complications (apart from a minor bleed at 9 weeks), and the pregnancy is going quite well.

A good doctor will send your partner out when they asked those questions. You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -

Why would a good doctor send your partner out????
They never did with my partner and i would have thought it quite rude if he did!
And i regard my doctor as i very good doctor!!!We Make A Living By What We Get. We Make A LIFE By What We GIVE:money:
